@Crazy: ... that hat is amazing xDD

@Catnes: cuuute. cx That's going to look awesome.

Progress: I have decided my plan of attack for Suzie-- buy the first beige or black trench coat I see that fits me. If it's black, then go on a search for a grey skirt and top, embroider the top, make myself a resurrection gauntlet and life knife...
... if it's beige, somehow work out how to cover it in bullet holes, go on a search for a brown skirt and blue top.
...
... can anyone shed any light for me as to how I'd go about doing bloody bullet holes? I have a feeling that I'm more likely to find a beige trenchcoat than a black one...

I decided to buy a blazer, I will remove the collar, and zip, and cut a panel out of the middle front, add a new middle panel, with zips sewn on each side.

In other words I'm altering a blazer for my Persona 3 cosplay.

This weekend I will spray paint my boots, Dye my skirt, alter the skirt, finish the headset, and alter some gloves for the cosplay. If i have the time and money. And next weekend I will make the undershirt and alter the blazer.

So in other words, hopefully all my cosplays will be done by the 15th 8D

So, my lace dyeing went quite a bit wrong last night, AGAIN. My chemical water solution I think may have been the answer though - soda ash is a bastard to dissolve, and the splotches of darker colour make me think that possibly with a stronger soda ash solution I can fix the problem. New batch of chemical water mixed last night, so I'll do mix up my colours now and wait ANOTHER 48 hours to see if it worked or not. Man, I'm so glad this is a comp piece...

As I venture further and further into my cosplays, I find myself falling into some of the lines I wrote in the CNZ Anthem. Namely, 'Help me sew this in time for next 'Geddon', 'What should I use to paint my face', 'Everyone get out of my space!!!' and most annoyingly.... 'Damn, I can't fit this prop in my car!'

Darn this sword! I'm reeeaaally hoping this will fit ;;;

(And thus shines through my sub/conscious penchant for making swords longer than they should be. Sigh.)

Polyfilla is AWESOME! And it sands SO well - to hell with paperclay, polyfilla is the answer! Just need to prime and sand some more, then a tiny bit of detail work and I can do the final paintwork :)

^ Did you include the sushi-table (and subsequently figure out how you're going to go the bathroom with such a thing attached)? |D

Obtained: three rolls of electrical tape (two red, one black), four-pack of masking tape (4x20m rolls) and huge roll of silver pvc/builders' tape. Let the taping commence. (I have way too much fun with tape <3;)

Re: General Progress
Post By JVCA. 03/03/10, 11:20 am

I've been posting my progress in the Magna Carta thread, but I figure it couldn't hurt to make a post here for those not following that thread. Very Happy

I'm patterning my Amila costume (HTK art version, so with the really shaped skirt rather than the droopy CGI version. Anyway, I realised the form of the skirt was sitting too low on my last mock-up (curse my short legs!) so I brought everything up a few inches and changed the way I did the bottom, and added the petals. I'm much happier with it now - I'm just going to pattern the neck petals in, then I'll cut out my lining/mock-up fabric! Very Happy
