All-purpose Bioware thread! By Le_Saboteur. 02/10/09, 02:33 am |
| Every forum deserves one of these! For those of you who aren't huge on Western RPGs, Bioware are one of the leading creators in the genre and have made a bunch of wildly popular and TOTALLY BADASS games such as
Baldurs Gate I and II (+expansions) Neverwinter Nights (+expansions) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Jade Empire Mass Effect
And are soon releasing Dragon Age: Origins and The Old Republic (an MMORPG, for the most part) along with Mass Effect 2.
I wanted a place where I could spazz about my favourite game company and didn't want to pollute any not-really-related threads. So don't make me look like a dweeb with an empty thread: What's your favourite Bioware game? What upcoming title/s are you looking forward to? Favourite characters? Post it here, my fellow nerds. |

| DRAGON AGE
I just finished Throne of Bhaal, as you know, considering you were sitting right there when it happened, but for all these younglings that have yet to experience the awesomeness of the Bhaalspawn Saga, get to it, kiddies. |

| Only two days? Dammit, where is money when I need it.
So many good games coming out for the Chirstmas season. Assassin's Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, Ratchet and Clank: A Wrench in Time, Dragon Age: Origins, and probably a couple I am forgetting. |

| We pre-ordered the special edition- comes with a cloth map of Fereldan! Eeee. And the Dragon Armour (which can also be used by Shepard from Mass Effect 2 when that comes out next year...?).
I look forward to the many hours spent playing this game- even just the character creator! Had a quick look at it at Geddon, it has so many, many options. It even blows Oblivions (and Mass Effect's, and Fallout 3's) out of the water. The graphics on the PC version they had there were pretty darn good- though it was probably on high and it was a high-end gaming computer... Hopefully it's just as atmospheric and impressive on the 360.
Edited to add: Assassins Creed 2 looks like a lot of fun, I'm crossing my fingers for a wider range of quests/jobs/whatever instead of it being so repetitive. Same thing goes for ME2. |

| It was at geddon?!?!? >_<; I totally missed it! Was it in the R18 section? Though I can't wait to see the graphics up close and see all the features. Man i should really pre-order... but hey I think i can wait the little bit longer. |

| ^ Yup! There's, y'know, gore and sex and such, so it's probably best to keep it away from the nine year olds (and the media ogres).
Haha, we just pre-ordered because we were afraid EVERY NERD IN AUCKLAND would buy it on release and we wouldn't get it.
We do love us some Bioware |

| This game is every bit as awesome as I was hoping. And I'm only four hours into it (including character creation, which for me took... a long time).
The blood spatter is a little much (seriously, my first fight was against two wolves and PC and companion were so covered in blood it was stupid).
Already liking some of the party characters I've met (Alistair and Morrigan). Alistair is not as annoying as the trailers make out. He's actually... funny!

YES, the cloth map is beautiful, though I was hoping it would be bigger. It's already framed and on the wall.
What race/build are you playing, Mui? I'm a Dalish Rogue, with hope of becoming either a Ranger or Duelist. |

Finally used to the controls and whatnot. About 10 hours again, it's getting really good. Great characters, especially Alistair. Morrigan is a little annoying, but more bearable than Bastila (Knights of the Old Republic), at least. |

Yes! That was great! I love how it's a reworded version of what Shep said in the last game. I've had enough of your disingenuous assertions!
superarmy; I think I agree with you. It was so fun, rewarding, great characters, great story... It had everything, I liked it far more than the first one, and faaar more than Dragon Age. |

Haha, too true. That was the first dialogue moment that I was like "...WHAT?!" at, heh. There were a few more after that, as well (especially with Zevran and Oghren). Though in ME2 Garrus and FemShep can have a somewhat similar interaction.
Actually, I think Wrex headbutting that other Krogan might trump the lamp post thing, for sheer WHATJUSTHAPPENED moments. And then you can do it, too!
Ahh, Mass Effect 2, I'm already on my second play through, and I already did absolutely everything in my first game. I came up with about 75% renegade, 50% paragon. Doing a full paragon this time, and my next one I'll do a MaleShep, FULL RENEGADE. His voice actor seems a lot better this time round, so I'll actually give the male option a go |

Re: All-purpose Bioware thread! By Le_Saboteur. 26/02/10, 04:28 am |
| Yeah, Mass Effect 1 was his first 'named' part, he'd only really done minor and nameless shlub characters before MaleShep.
Miranda is exactly what Jack said she is, a Cerberus smarmy wrench. I'll definitely do the Tali romance as well. She's so lovable :3
In the last ME1 game I played, my femShep romanced Liara (I really disliked Kaidan). WHAT HAPPENED TO HER IN THIS GAME?! BAWW, LIARA. So I left her for Garrus, who was my favourite character in the first game D:
This playthrough with femshep I'm going to romance Thane. It sucks that the only way to get the characters' full story is to romance them... |
