Yep I have an iron! Maybe we should meet at my place first - those bringing machines and also going fabric shopping. I mean you don't want to carry round a sewing machine while fabric shopping! As long as you have bus money/metro card then we can get to Kutwells to meet the others in time.

Anyway, it sounds like most people are starting from scratch so a lot of people might be cutting out. And if those not doing anything but learning get sick of learning about fabric/patterns then they can go bug the sewing people. :grin:

I'll meet you at kutwells near the end of fabric shopping time if you can give me a definite when that will be. I vaguely know where it is.

O - Yep!! You have my official permission to bug people! But then it sounds like you already know quite a lot - you could help give advise/tips/teach.

Kelz -Everyone else is due at my place around 1pm so 12:30ish. But we might not be at kutwells - could have worked our way down to spotlight or anything.

Other activities yes but I think feathers could be a bit much. I know from experience that feathers get into everything! Painting and cutting things out is fine though...

Sorry, it's going to be a pain cleaning up after cutting and sewing with the thread lying around... You can still have fun with the sewing, music and us!

Fingers crossed I can come to this. My mum has a sewing machine but bringing it on an hour busride = fail! So put me into the 'most probably' group for fabric shopping / sewing? :)

Could I still do the rest of the wing construction, though? It involves batting, wire and electrical tape-- nothing that'll scatter or whatever. xD

NotSarah - Mandie or I will PM everyone my address and instructions on how to get there in a few days. If we let people know too early then they loose the address or accidentally delete it.

EDIT: Anyone know how to modify patterns? That's something I would really love to learn! thumbsup

What area of town do you live in? I can tell I will have to be on time this time. But I will be bringing my car just in case anybody buys whole rolls of fabric.

I have bought a book. It looks pretty basic, but covers most things , so ..

And from memory both my and sakuras machine can handle a variety of stitches, including a variety of hemming, etc. Mine has multiple feet, and automatic button holing, etc. I will come with the walking foot on which handles those delicate or hard to feed fabrics. Then the older machines can be used for Straight stitching and Zig Zag, which is most of what we want anyway.

PS Mandie do you still have the 29, or do want another one. Maybe after 29 meets!

Out near belfast. I'm fine with catching the bus and meeting people near town, but bringing a sewing machine probably won't work

Should we say 10 or 10:30, allow time for lunch.

I guess it depends on how many people are coming, as in how long it takes.

Mandie and I agreed earlier that 10 (outside Kutwells) would be better as we have no idea how long the group of us will take and a few are pattern buying so that means going through the books. Very Happy

H - you haven't seen my tartan? Wore it sometimes at CF...
