I watch them for ideas, but when I have a project I usually come up with unique ideas never done. I make videos so slowly anyway XD

I also know my next year one. Maybe I'll make two. Or one for chch as well dunno.

I make AMVs regardless of whether they've been done or not-- the exception is uber popular AMVs. If there's one that seems to be regarded the 'definitive' AMV for that song+show, I won't bother, 'cause I know I'll be regarded an idiot copy-cat.

Personally I think everyone has a different angle to take on any song+show combo. Taking the same series as someone else and putting it to the same song doesn't matter- you'll probably have different character/pairing focuses, and different styles of AMV making.

Everyone has perspective, everything sees things in a different light. AMV making is trying to justify your views in the space of four minutes. Everyone's opinions are going to be different, and the subtle touches are the things that make us unique as AMV makers. And so... I think it's right we use the same ideas as other people.

That's my view, at least.

^ Agree.

I have knowingly used an Anime / Music combination that had already been used.
I try to stay away from watching similar themed videos when I am working on mine to avoid taking ideas (knowingly or other wise) and my videos turn out very different.
