In about April this year, I was listening to 'Over My Head', and thinking about how it pretty much perfectly summarized the apathy I feel towards the world. I then linked it to Vincent Law... somehow, because I relate to him a lot. He seemed to fit well with the idea of 'apathy and imotivation; and the recovery from it'. Then... came the screamo bits.

They prompted the inclusion of Ergo in the video, who became the embodiment of 'reaction'. You have 'cause', you have 'effect'. You have 'action', you have 'reaction'. The action Vincent was taking: none. The reaction Ergo made? Everything. The idea that they were the same person, compensating for each other's faults, helped with the duality of the vocals in the song.

Then there was Re-L. For a video about taking action, there needed to be consequence. We have Vincent (action), Ergo (reaction), and Re-L at the end-- Vincent's consequence. It's like an earthquake-- every inaction Vincent takes turns into a reaction from Ergo and a consequence from Re-L: be it her fear, her love, or her boredom.

So, that's how it came about. Essentially, the angle of my tale is peppered with my own feelings about the idea of... action. How taking it can cause everything to unravel. How sometimes the effort isn't worth the results. Ironically, it was a good prediction of its own results. Dx
