Favourite FF?

There were parts of that I didn't understand until Hamish/Duckeh said some things, mainly Duckehs and yes I'm quoting it again.

FF 6 I started but was 2 swamped with things to enjoy

I love the original Final Fantasy 1 game, I really enjoy it because it is so retro and pixelated.

FFX.

I think people are more inclined to think of their first FF game played as their fav. FFX was what hot me started. IMO FFXII is good, but I hope future FFs (lol @ 'FFs' as opposed to 'FFS') are all turn based again. It's just not right. Doesn't feel like a real FF game.

I appear to be the only one to have FF6 as their favourite. It had the best villain of the lot, a very wide variety of cast members, all of which get a decent amount of development and it also has a sentimental value over me being the first one I played.

Agree that Final Fantasy VI is the best Final Fantasy, and that Kefka was the best Final Fantasy Villain ever...
people are starting to notice what a great badguy Kefka is, thanks to Dissida..

But changed mind, like Final Fantasy IV (4) the best now, and Final Fantasy IX second, and Final Fantasy VII in 3rd place..

don't know why like Final Fantasy IV so much..

Maybe because it was a nice, simple storyline-really awesome characters, and really well-played music..

Crisis Core was my fave, of the ones I've played.
I absolutely loved all the characters, Especially Zack, and Genesis.
Zack was just TOO awesome, loved everything about him in CC (and the cosplayer of him on sunday of Auckgeddon this year was AWESOMENESS)
Genesis was also really awesome, loved the sword, loved the wing, loved the jacket. And as a result of Genesis' awesomeness, I learnt Loveless off-by-heart. (I had nothing better to do)

The ending made me cry, it was that good.

And VII has to be my second fave, second one I ever played, just after 1, and it was really awesometastic.
and then I got my friends addicted to Final Fantasy.

Also, I'm only halfway through, but IX is also really good. Zidane is awesome.

(Now that I think about it, I still need to get a lot of FFs so I can play them...)

FF7 it definitely has to be the best one. though I can't say the other ones are bad at all except for ffx-2 which is a bit of an exception

Final Fantasy 8! This is so unappreciated!
It has the deepest, best storyline, and pretty good gameplay.
FF12 is the worst. Hands down

I looove Final Fantasy 4.. before they remade it (well I probably would like the new version if I ever get around to playing it O.o)
The storyline (for most of the earlier FF's) is really in depth for a bunch of crappy pixels... most games these days tend to focus more on the wow factor of the graphics and less on the storyline which is rather dumb in my opinion - like with a movie, you should be able to listen to whats going on and THAT grabs your attention to watch it, not the other way around (I probably make no sense to anyone else but whatever I read too much into these things lol)

Then again, I am quite the hypocrite cause my second fave would be Final Fantasy 12 ONLY cause of the pretty armour and bunny ears everyone and their uncle is running about in.(The storyline for FF12 is a bit meehhergkjj there)

I played FF7 one day at a friends place and was pretty much hooked instantly. However, after asking for it for xmas my parents purchased FF8. Which I found to be far more exciting! Very Happy

Oh and I got it around the time of Shinzo being played on TV, so I especially loved being able to turn monsters into cards!

I've never played any others but I really want to!

Crisis Core.

I like the non-turn-basedness. I just really don't like turn based games.
But I love the FF universe.

i don't get why ff12 gets so much bashing... it's really, REALLY, really long, but it's a fairly decent game, and has less plotholes than some of the other final fantasies (cough, 8).

Final Fantasy XII, for me /dodges rocks

I love the huge, overarching storyline of XII. I love the concept of the Judges, the Empires, and little Dalmasca in the middle; fighting for their independence. I love all the different races (like the Garif? wtf?!) and different flavours of the cities/towns. Also less MELODRAMA!!1

I can totally understand why a lot of people don't like it. It's more story than character based (except for maybe Ashe, Basch and Gabranth... and to some extent Larsa, but two of those aren't even playable characters for the majority of the game), unlike a lot of the other FFs which have a focus on characters rather than story. But I love it :3

VIII is probably the other contender for my favourite, as it was my first (the first game I bought for myself at twelve years old, woo). I'm incredibly attached to it, but... gosh, the dialogue is so freaking terrible and angsty and facepalmy in some places. It was also really easy in comparison to the other FFs I've played. I maxed every one out somewhere on disc two. Yay for 1000exp for each level 8D

I still have to play IX. And VI.

I'm quite enjoying XIII at this stage, too, but I'll wait 'til I'm done 'til I pass judgement.

to date I have played all Final fantasy main series (except XI bloody online game) and I have to agree that XII is one of my favorites (still gonna try cosplay Gabranth at some point) but I also like (gotta have a top 5 as I can't pick just 1) IV(characters story line music everything was awesome, loved Golbez hopefully cosplay him at aukgeddon), VI(steam punk and mad clowns ftw), X(first ff I played) and VIII
