Yaoi bats

Hey everyone!

Lately I have been making lots of yaoi bats (Yes, bats. Yaoi paddles are far too pansy for most characters!) because alot of my friends have requested them and I've decided to make some more for people who need them for their cosplay. Please tell me if you are interested and I'll see if I can make them!

Um just requesting that any yaoi paddles/bats brought to a con be kept under control. They're now banned from the bigger American cons, and I'd hate to see it get that bad here ^^;

But feel free to do them if you want. Just be careful haha.

Yaoi itself is banned from a lot of cons now because people were just getting up on stage and making out, it just doesn't belong at a convention heh.

lol, yes, i'm still surprised. although i can certainly see why they'd ban people getting up on stage and making out. Public Displays of Affection (when you're not one of the ones involved) are usually just plain annoying.

Um. Ohwell. I doubt it would happen here since everyone seems way more mature. I just know there are quite a few people who would scream rage if they saw them at Geddon.

Yeah, coz people (understandably) got damn pissed about people slapping them on the ass/hitting them in general with a paddle. I know I'd be. D:

And despite being the yaoi fangirl I am, I agree that there's a time and a place, and *everything* is better in moderation. Sloppy makeouts ≠ good skit.

People get extremely pissed off when retards with bats randomly proceed to attack them, hurt them, and damage their cosplays. Most people have no idea what it is (and this will especially be the case in New Zealand), so it's effectively the same in all ways if someone came rushing at you with a cricket bat.

What would you do? What do you think the average New Zealander will do if rushed with a cricket bat? The morons with Yaoi bats are just as likely to get injured from people defending themselves.

Speaking as a typical NZer, I'd take posession of the bat and beat them about the head and neck with it. Paddles and bats are fun in photos, but if anybody comes at me with a bat raised, you've been warned.

Agreed. I think yaoi bats should be either kept small and cute like that sea salt ice cream one, or kept away from cons.

That is ENTIRELY a matter of opinion! XP However I am all for using paddles/bats/etc. in photos, you can some absolutely awesome shots that way. YAOI PADDLE GO! and such. However I'm also a fan of nut-crackin' photos (I think they're freakin' hilarious), so maybe I'm just weird that way XD

Staged paddling would make me giggle: random jackass coming up to me and whacking me with something would make me very angry and possibly feel slightly violated. :c

That was what was cool about the yaoi ice-cream - in photos people would be pretending to take a bite. X3

hardcore fujoshi (i.e. pairing fangirl) here ... but yeah ... umm ... make them if you want ... its just id prefer if they didnt make it onto con grounds because ... if its a real bat ... id think they would not be allowed in as it is a potential weapon ... well i know theyd be (banned) if we were in malaysia its in the con rules on the website and everything but meh ...

...you know what, this just occurred to me: how come we have so many yaoi fangirls but only a couple of yuri ones? Or is it just that nobody but Kitten admits it? Is it not as cool to like teh girlsecks? It's very strange.
