Cosplay Events brainstorm By Guest. 29/10/08, 01:18 pm |
| I'm starting the planning for this early. :)
For those that couldn't make it to Aucklageddon this year, I'm sure you've gathered what we got up to: but here's a quick run down to clarify.
~ some skit performances, including "how to cosplay in two minutes" ~ dance performances: ie, Bleach, Hare Hare Yukai, Lucky Star ~ catwalk: cosplayers for that day got to show off & I asked them questions. (secretly ninja picking up tips? never!)
then we moved outside and did a mass caramelldansen & a freeze.
So the question is, what would you like to see at Welly? Cosplay chess? A quiz? [insert original idea here]? |

| A cosplay catwalk sounds good - there's no time to throw questions out there at judging, so a separate little Q&A would be great! We could do cosplay charades or something. Oh! A massive game of Simon Says! |

Re: Cosplay Events brainstorm By Guest. 29/10/08, 02:31 pm |
| maybe instead of buzzers, we could take the mickey out of those shows and use a rubber duck squeak doll? so instead of "bzzzt!" it'd be "squu-nyuuh!". As I would love to organise a quiz/test your anime knowledge thing.
yeah, the Q & A idea is a good one, I just don't want to steal M's thunder from her panel - so we might leave that one. I'm not sure: we'll see how we go with the other things.
@Static: yeah, we were thinking of doing a cosplay charades thing this year, but instead more of a "who can act the best like this particular character"? So that'd be good~ I'm a little bit wary of the simon says idea: last year we made the mistake of having similar games, and these were great for the cosplayers to take PART in, but horrendous to watch. These events have got to cater for an audience, but seperate things like that we've taken outside for just a casual thing, and that's worked perfectly fine and dandy to much enjoyment. :)
@Becky: Gekisou HHY is the long one right? 8D If so, that'd be awesome if you guys could to that~~ 83
keep the ideas coming guys! :3 |

| LMFAO squu-nyuuh! Best sound effect ever y/y
The acting thing would be good, maybe we could have some in character improv games, as they're good for audiences too.
Yeah, it is. Sweet, we'll be working on it ^^ |

Re: Cosplay Events brainstorm By JVCA. 29/10/08, 02:45 pm |
| My only suggestion for the improv games would be to pre-select participants, and only choose those with acting/theatre sports experience - again, last year we had some theatresport type games that got very cringworthy, very fast, because people were all over the place. <_> |

| Ah - very good point. I'm not the best at improv, but I have a lot of acting experience so m. How would we tell if someone was actually okay at it though? |

| I guess all we can do is ask if people have prior experience and cross our fingers that they're actually any good? n_n; |

Re: Cosplay Events brainstorm By Guest. 29/10/08, 03:01 pm |
| I don't think we can - and even if they were awesome, on the day maybe they wouldn't be able to perform so well due to any number of things, so I'm thinking scripted skits is our best bet again. |

Yeah, more skits would be great. :) It would be spifftastic if you could help write~
I'm interested to hear the improv game ideas! 8D Though keep in mind that they may not be used. >>; It all depends~ and don't forget we could always do them for the non official event. ;3 |
