Latex brought!

And now latex collected and gloves brought for materials tests!! And a nearly-naked singlet for building a spine prosthesis onto for wearing with a Saree.

/Mini update
I KNEW ~~taking~~, ~~thiefing~~, ~~pilfering~~ asking politely for some felt from my sewing class back in 2009 would pay off!! Originally I was going to make a cute little Luxray, but the felt in the little bag I put it in just sat around collecting dust for years. NOW I'm going to USE IT!!! >D >D >D Who knew? I'd take it to make a Luxray, and years down the track, I'd be using it for cosplay. Ahh life. <333
If I didn't have it, I would just stare at my tunic thinking "WRY?! D8 D8 I don't want to sew all that onto it!"

My tiaras arrived!!!!!! Woohoo

They're so beautiful!!! Tomorrow I'm going to buy some of my fabric to start making the actual cosplay.

Edit:

So today Anne and I got so much done!! We spent a good 2+ hrs looking at and buying fabric. Anne now has most of the fabric she needs to make Mars - just needs to get some purple shiny fabric for her front bow. I got fabric for my collar and bodice from shops here and placed my order for the fabric I need from 2 different sites - unfortunately (read here disaster) one of the sites ran out of the fabric I needed for one of my skirts!! I've sent them an email and I hope to high Heaven that they can restock fast!!!

I also started on my choker and have almost finished off the odango shields - which means things are slightly moving along. I'll put photos up later once I find where my camera has hidden itself.

So all in all a VERY productive afternoon - more so than the last time.

After about 15 hours of work...

... I have finally beaded all 19 flowers around the bottom of my Caterina skirt.

For the record, 4 beads on each petal, 14 petals on each flower, 19 flowers on the skirt.

1064 beads all up.

I'm just gonna go die somewhere now...

^I really like how the bow on the back turned out~! It's very cute. And yeah, woop woop, suicide by costumery... these dresses will be the death of us yet!!

Alright, now to add a proper waistband to the skirt and finish the inside seams... then it'll be DONE FOREVER and I can NEVER LOOK AT IT AGAIN. After that, CORSETRY TAIMS. I get to bead bits of the corset aaand... line it? Yep. :B Fun ahead.

I've started the actual material part of Patamon, lawl. So far he has a body, and 36 darts OTL. Might work on it more later today, or other wise two of the hoodies I want to make xD (after i tidy up all my patamon stuff >__>)

@ Pura: I know that the HP paper was $35 for 10 sheets when I bought it. Of course I will use them up on other things eventually. Don't forget to try the printer/ink refill shops. And maybe craft shops if you are really lucky.

Finally figured out what the fabric I need for Miranda's texture is called - pique knit! Really cool waffle-ish kind of texture, and as luck would have it, it is on clearance on Fabric.com Very Happy

So...MORE FABRIC BOUGHT. I also just threw a giant tantrum at online suppliers of sheet latex. I count this as progress.

I've never fully fully finished a cosplay to the point where I'm happy to put it down unlike like last years cosplay where ciel didnt have any sleeves under his jacket and lizzies bonnet wasn't made. gonk

and the year before that when i was still sewing sei-anns arm pieces,

Now if only i could pull off the same finished cosplay effect on my chobits then i would be really happy because then i'd get to sleep to my hearts content but i still have both freyas and chii cosplays to finish there is no content sleeping for me yet sigh

Couture + Icaarus: Woooowww. Such amazing dresses. One day I will work out how to do something that awesome.

In the mean time I'll stick to four-bits-of-material hoodies : DDDD. (Body, hood and two sleeves, lawl). Patterned and cut out all the bits for Matryoshka Gumi cosplay (... yet another cosplay started that I don't have planned for anything OTL) My dad gave me LOADS of material a year or more ago, including ridiculous amounts of red fleece. Huzzuh! Currently free cosplay. I think I'll need to buy a zip though ): Don't think I have a white one lying around.

@static to be truly honest I'm not really sure, i didn't really plan it for any con, it kind of came about because i was avoiding both of my chobits cosplay, sweatdrop

so my sort of plan at the moment is to (maybe hopefully/money time ) enter my chobits in chch and my glass mask in welly, though it is still up in the air because i dont know my uni timetable yet

@highlander, i would have loved to go whole hog and made a bra and panties too but i dont have enough time to made any panties though i have a pattern for some cute ones and no one sells patterns for cute lacy demi 36G cup bras, full cup grandmother bras yes, cute demis no :sadcry:

and drafting and making my own bra is FAR beyond me at the moment sweatdrop

@Victorian_Couture Haha! I love that cosplayers procrastinate by making random cosplays Razz

On the bra note, have you got much experience in modifying patterns? That could be a good way to do some bras, just taking the full cup pattern and adjusting it to look a little less matronly.
