| More work on Braig's scarf. Done the cutouts and 'burned' areas. Was hoping to get it all done today but I can't find the interfacing I was gonna use for it. Gonna buy some tomorrow though so it's fine.

| Started clover's skirt. I decided I'd sew bias on in strips onto the fabric to get the right pattern. I underestimated how much bias is needed D:

- I've completely worked out how much fabric I need for my Moon skirts!! It took all of the morning and half of the afternoon but it's done - with a mock up of the first skirt done. Now to see of the site I'm getting the fabric from does part of a yard not just full ones.
I also cut out a partially sewn together the Usagi uniform top but I've run out of ompph to finish sewing it tonight. Luckily the site I'm using does it by 10cm. Finally after lots of calculations and emails I have worked put an amount which will cover me no matter how many pleats I put in, plus the rest of the items I need. Shopping around gives me prices between 15-40 pounds per meter. But for 15 pounds/m it's still as good on paper as the 38/m stuff. 44 pound postage, ouch, but still better than 38/m. Total about 110 pounds hopefully. And probably 5% import duty too. So placed order today. |

There's never enough bias...I've taken to buying WAY more than I think I'll need as I never seem to get enough o.O

| Started making my Patamon plushie! Now I just need masking tape before I can continue ):
Plus, does anyone know where you can get like, one sheet of iron-on t-shirt stuff? I forget what it's called. Like, you print a picture, and you can then iron it on? I'd only need a small amount for Patamon (his eyes) and I don't wanna spent $40 on 10 sheets I don't need. |

| LOL. Me: "What's Richard Smith?" *giggles* Ahh, filter. I think I'll look in the Warehouse Stationary and Gordon Harris when I next go into town. I tried trademe, but all I got was pages of iron on patches OTL. I didn't want to sift through them all Dx |

Re: General Progress By sakura_petals. 02/02/11, 01:22 pm |
| Last weekend I got all the amounts for fabric sorted out and made a mock up of one of my skirts - but I've now been staring at it and my reference pics and have noticed that my pleats are way too small!! It means that I now need to work out all my measurements again and still try to order it all by sunday.
On the plus side my top for Usagi's school uniform is almost complete, I just need to hem the sleeves, bottom and make the breast pocket. Then on to the sailor collar and skirt. |

| Last bit of hand sewing tonight on the trousers to do, plus fix the ironed on hem. Would consider tomorrows 7's game a "dress-rehearsal" for Welly-geddon. Then start planning on the next costume.... undecided at this stage. =) |

| Miranda progress! Bodysuit pvc got, latex gloves bought, matte pvc got, and shoes bought. I also have figured out how it's all going to work, which considering the costume, is no small feat! Procrastination streak broken! Might have to put off the Chch plans, though...sadface. |

Re: General Progress By Rikku. 04/02/11, 02:41 am |
| So I spent yesterday and the day befroe cleaning my rooms upstairs. Yes, plural. xD Bedroom and sewing room. Now they are both spotless. But while cleaning said sewing room, I got distracted by a hideous, long black dress. I looked at it a while, tried it on, thought LOLFUGLY, then proceeded to stick pins into it while it was on. I took it off, chopped it up, then sewed it back together and turned it into a basic tunic for a possible Dark Link. x3 So yesterday was productive in two ways. 8D I now have a tidy room, and a tunic for Link. 8D |
