I really want to help people out who need water and everything, because Mum and I got very lucky and just want to help out others so bad. If anybody needs a place to stay at for a while please say something and I'll ask Mum if you can come over. She's very likely to say yes. So please, if you need help please say because yeah. Also has anybody heard from Pervy Kappa ?

The aftershocks have halted for a while, so it might be on it's way through I've been praying that it won't come and will just end up being a geologists mistake. Christchurch doesn't need more damage, and there's so much people who are now homeless. We don't need another shock so soon.

@Aura I'd rather nature 'hated us' than have a death toll.

I'm really worried about work... I have a few jobs jobs and 2 of them were at my Church which no one is allowed to go near let alone in. Must ring up my work in town and see if they are still operating. Though until buses are up and running I can't really get there.

Fully wishing to wake up and for this all to be over, not that I'll get my wish. With every aftershock, the damage to roads and houses is getting worse.

Yeah it's going to get rapidly better over the next week or two. But there is going to be a whole lot of more damage and delays if we get 100Kph winds followed by cold rain. Watch for tree coming down tonight/tomorrow morning. Then it will take months at least for all the damage to be repaired. Some of the damage is very complex and extensive. Like how to redo roads if the ground is not solid? Some is hidden underground.

Bartz. I visited Ze Pervy last night. She is sick like lots of people have been, and very tired. Busy tidying the flat. Minour cut on her foot. She hasn't set the computer up again since it fell over.

Yeah I know Mandie, like I said hearing more and more stories come out it, really puts the dangers and damages into light. So many people have had close calls. We truly are lucky that there have been no deaths so far.

just got our water back but theres not but pressure and it still has to be boiled but yay water.

@Mandie Yea I had work experience in town on tuesday I don't even know if the office survived. Have to call up also.

All schools/preschools/polytech/universitys are closed until at least wednesday.

Also OMG I hate the wind seriously it is a big fear of mine. One of my weirdest fears >_> it stole my book when I was little >_>

The Palms was open today I believe. Farmers was cleaned up and ready by lunchtime.

Countdown Northlands was open late last night. Pack and save closed for the night.

Yeah and when it first hit i was outside with friends at a party, then the sky starts lighting up and flashes.
Turned out that the liquid in the power transformer, when shaken up, starts making the transformer arc and flash really brightly.
Friends Iwas with started theorising about meteorites, 2012, end of the world, war and even the summoning of cthulhu (see H.p lovecraft).
Though with the power out, the ground shaking and every one slightly intosicated, the sky looked amazing!

It's so freaky for me to be here sitting in Ireland and not being able to do anything!! I feel so helpless when I hear all your stories and call mum to get updates. I'm home in a just over a week so things should be interesting when I get back. The only way I've been able to keep updated of what's happening is this thread and the couple of phone calls I've had with mum.

I hope people start feeling a little clam but as others have said try and stay prepared - you never know what the next shock will bring and I would hate to loose or see any of you injured!!
