I have built up 2 layers of a bodice/armour style breastplate.

Margie dress progress! Collar and epaulette details done, just need to add the gold ring details. Also the sleeves. But I have to quilt those and it will take forever guh.

Also, those stupid reverse facing things on the sleeves? Fiddly as all hell. Oh my god. Never again!! Tomorrow's job is to put the pleats into the front splits, sew in the zip, fit it properly, do the sleeves, and then kill myself. :3

This is the character. Notice how the gold rings and belt haven't been made yet, nor has the fitting been completed? That's what not finished means. Wink

(And I'm sure there's more things that need to be done that I haven't spotted because I'm not the one making it, too.)

Well I guess any minor flaws will be hidden by the buttons and belt.

That is incredible! I love the amount of details in there already. <3

Just wondering, how did you do the piping? I've searched for a tutorial and all I can find are the ones that gets covered by the fabric. Yours look way better.

@Selphiroth: Er, mine is...covered by fabric...? It's cord, inside bias-cut fabric, which is folded and stitched close to the cord to leave a flap that gets sewn into a seam :) And a pain in the ass to make and work with!

YES! I love piping but it is so fiddly to work with - I start off making the strips perfectly 45 then I get all lazy *meh it's diagonal*

Gah, I hate piping. It makes every seam you sew twice as hard. And then you have to figure out how to join up sections. Hate hate hate. Love the effect you get though!

8'D My bodice pattern is lying on my bodice fabric.
My attempts at sewing proceed like this.

"SO KEEN!"
-An hour later gets out fabric-
"TIME TO CHECK INTERNETS."
-half an hour later-
"... I guess I'll lay the fabric out on the floor"
"OH GOD, SO TIRED."
-Internets for 30 minutes and then places pattern ontop of fabric-

My Original design visual kei meiko is /almost/ done. Just need to go buy some more chains and make some more straps and add a collar to the jacket =O

oki, finally got time to do Len's vest tail coat thingy, just need to add buttons and a giant bow to the butt lol

recalculated the pope's gold trim stuff (that I am now brave enough to get) thought it was 20m before, turns out I need about 40m+ of it DD:
so... about $160-200 *headdesk headdesk headdesk*

I have my crepe-back Satin for Sister Nicci, and after dinner I will be cutting it out ;D
I have also bought 5m of tulle for another costume along with some dye, I will be venturing into that field in July... Very Happy

On Tuesday I will be getting some Red Poplin for Sister Nicci's Pants that she wears under her dress(confirmed this as one of her dresses was being sold on Ebay, and there were Pictures Very Happy

)

I also ordered in my Ripstop Cotton for my StarGate Jacket Very Happy
