NZAE Memories Thread!

because we need to share memories of the epic weekend that was NZAE.

i think one of my (most traumatic) memories would have to be crammed into our room on saturday night with a small horde of people that were helping me finish painting my himawari kimono... thanks to alice/emma/steph/matt/ryan it got done in time...

and tim & mandie serenading us while we worked!

... and 2.30am popcorn chicken.

I think one of my favourite jokes of the weekend is "You're supposed to say 'No'". XD

Either that or "I'm so tired."

I'm serious about getting that engraved on the cup.

My favourite memory was of having a walking race to the con in our kimono! SO. HARD. TO WALK IN.

Most pissed off memory: Alan forgetting the battery to the camera!! (%)U#)(%&@ GRRRRR

Best memory: the ongoing CRISP jokes and the jokes that Lucy kept making with a particular single word.

Best memory 2: Tin Tango jamming with... Mandie, it was? <3 You guys were so nice.

Best memory 3: buffet dinner. <3

Best memory 4: WAFFLES.

Best memory 5: PEOPLE ENJOYING MY BROWNIES AND PALMIERS <3

Best memory 6: THE HOLIC GROUP LOOKING SO EPIC!!! You guys were so colourful, you rivalled Robot Unicorn!

My favourite memory was hanging out with all of the cosplayers before/after the contest, and meeting the others too. I feel like such a newbie beside some of you guys but you guys and the judges are such wonderful, wonderful people~!
Oh, and bro-fisting with... I think it was Riven_? over collapsing as soon as we got home/to the backpackers. My lack of memory is due to how physics tired I was.

Having a serious talk with Anne during the hellish 8 hour night/morning marathon was my favourite moment.

Second favourite, and very close, was Steph's "hand sewing is making me ANGRY!"

getting tooted at by the bus driver on sunday morning while walking to the con! also the interviews by the ODT and the star newspaper. 8D

worst thing was that i had to miss the cosplay contest because of my flight *cries*

however that was made up by: cosplay chess and dances - alot of fun, thankyou guys for that!
also the epic date at the japanese restaraunt.... mmm

I'd say meeting everyone, and going to an event that actually had a con feel. It's pretty much run by fans, for fans. Will gladly come down again.

Hanging out with everyone after each day at the con. Also meeting Johnny Yong Bosch and listening to his panel, was very happy when he complemented Meghan's handiwork with the sword.

Oh and of course, hosting the Dubs Vs Subs panel, lots of thanks to Riven_ for helping me out on that.

My Fav memory was going out to dinner with Johnny Yong Bosch, Peter & Sam... then got some bubble cup and went to Timezone to get some sticky photos.

We cracked soooo many jokes and we were lost for words... that was the best 3 hours of the trip Razz

Best Memory: Getting to meet Jess and talk to her (I'v never really met Jess) and hanging out with the Cosplay people barging into their room and totally spazz out on the amazing work you guys were doing while I was getting barraged by "Get the hell out!" or "Smoking is against my religion" or "This aint your asian sweatshop!"

hmm mine was watching all the people staring at us walking down the street lol and walking through all the graduates....sum got really annoyed that the photographers were looking at us instead of taking their pictures.

* Matt "eating" his chocolate fish was by far the most hilarious moment of the weekend. I'm almost sad I was the only one who saw it - I couldn't accurately describe the spectacle if I tried. A close second has to have been Hide trying to cure my hiccups by making me laugh so much I literally keeled over.

* Saturday night marathon -- I think most people found this horrifically stressful and want to forget it, but the fact that we actually got everything FINISHED makes it awesome. Just the novelty of having costumes strewn about the floor, sewing machines running, people everywhere, Mandie & Tango on the guitar - the atmosphere was amazing. <3

* Oh, and I can't forget the CRISP. So much delicious irony in the fact that the finishing touch to my rose-obi was x9001 layers of Crisp. xD

It's nice being around people that I love most doing the things I love most. C: I just conveniently ignore the fact that it's 3am. |D Idk, I'm fairly good at dealing with sleep deprivation... I don't get the nausea/ stunted appetite/ general feeling-like-ass-ness... My body will co-operate perfectly fine until *it* decides it's time for sleep - by which time I *will* slip into a temporary coma and *nothing* will wake me up, lol.

...by about 1-2am I got really miserable and quite volatile, so I decided for everyone's sake it would be better if I plugged in my headphones and drowned everything out with Florence + the Machine. I think I probably would have flipped out at people if I didn't. orz

Riven_ is amazing for helping restore some of my sanity that night though.

This is the second time today I've had to explain this. orz and OTL are people curled up in the fetal position - the o/O is his head. It wasn't the in cosplay so much as the out of cosplay confusion that amused me, really.
