NZAE Guess the anime song songlist (FULL LIST UP)
Post By Basaka. 10/05/10, 01:40 am

As per request, I am posting a reference list of the songs I played during my panel for interested people to track down. Artist information can be easily found over Wikipedia :p

If you have questions regarding artists and such, feel free to PM me or drop a question on my formspring (in sig).

Song name (anime) - artist, and any comments.

1. SOMEONE ELSE (Working!!) - Asumi Kana, Fujita Saki, Kitamura Eri
Fujita Saki was also the person whos voice sample gave birth to Hatsune Miku.

2. Cruel Angel's Thesis (Evangelion) - Takahashi Youko
Needs no explaining.

3. Hikari no Senritsu (Sora no Woto OP) - Kalafina
Kalafina is a singer trio founded by the composer Kajiura Yuki for the Kara no Kyoukai movie series. Two of the members are from Fictionjunction.

4. Tenbatsu!! Angel Rabbie (Angel Rabbie) - UNDER17
Under17 started as an Akiba group. They have since disbanded but individual members are still active. Momoi Halko is the main vocal for the group, and is wonderful FUN.

5. Active Heart (GUNBUSTER OP) - Noriko Sakai
Noriko Sakai was a famous singer of her time, starring her vocal talent in numerous J-Drama and anime shows. She was arrested in August last year on drug charges, though. Pity.

6. Kirari Futari (Natsu no Arashi! ED) - Shiraishi Ryouko
Ryouko is a pretty veteran Voice actor, voicing Ayasaki Hayate in Hayate no Gotoku and such. Pretty strong singer as well.

7. Ginga Teokusattsudou 999 (Galaxy Express 999) - Sasaki Isao
Sasaki has done a lot of older anime and tokusatsu (ie sentai) shows. Certainly a classic figure. I want to put a chorus together to sing SPACE BATTLE YAMATO.

8. Free and Dream (Tears to Tiara OP) - Suara
Suara is an AMAZING singer. Debut song was Seiza from the game "Kusari". Her name means "voice" in Indonesian. Definitely a highly recommended artist by me.

9. Towa no Hana (Ai yori Aoshi OP) - Ishida Youko
Ishida Youko is very well known for her songs in Ah My Goddess! and various other shows. Can sing soothing, or upbeat.

10. Paradise Lost (Ga-Rei Zero OP) - Chihara Minori
Chihara Minori debuted in voice acting as Natsume Aya in Tenjou Tenge in 2004. She Released an album, HEROINE under King records, but did not get a big break until she voiced Nagato Yuki and signed a contract with Lantis, and restarted her singing career in 2007 with Junpyaku sanctuary. Definitely one of my FAVOURITE FAVOURITE singers!

11. Violet (Umi Monogatari OP) - marble
Her songs are nice and soothing, and unique.

12. Houseki (Le Petit Corsette) - Inoue Marina
Her debut song. Strong singer and voice actor. Does quite a few male/ strong female roles (Erio from Nanoha SS, Wataru from HnG, Jessica from Umineko)

13. Euphoric Field (Japanese) (Ef - a tale of memories) - ELISA
Pretty much appeared out of nowhere with this song and gained a lot of supporters.

14. Kanjite Knight (Shin Mazinger OP) - ULTIMATE LAZY for MAZINGER
JAM PROJECT + LAZY (who is down to only 2 members since the 1960/70s, with Kageyama also in Jam project). JAM project is the most manly band to ever exist.

15. Ai wo Torimodose! (Hokuto no Ken OP) - Masaaki Endou (cover song)
Masaaki Endou (aka THE LION) is a veteran singer, and a member of JAM Project. Sings a lot of robot show songs, and is an overall powerful singer. His cover albums, ENSON and ENSON2 are fabulous.

16. Glossy:MMM (Saki OP) - Hashimoto Miyuki
Not too much of an expert on eroge/VN songs, but she is certainly very active there, which also extends to instances of eroge adaptions (such as Akane Iro anime)

17. Tameiki no Hashi (Allison & Lillia OP) - Kuricorder Quartet and Yukawa Shione
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Jq617ENMd0 I REST MY CASE

18. Red Fraction (Black Lagoon OP) - Mell
You should all know this, so.

19. YOU GET TO BURNING (Uchuu senkan Nadesico OP) - Matsuzawa Yumi
XEBECs best anime.

20. Sousei no Aquarion (Sousei no Aquarion) - AKINO
One of Japan's favourite anime songs. Composed by THE Kanno Youko (Ghost in the shell, Macross Frontier, etc.). Get the OST for the show, but not the show itself.

21. Arrival of Tears (11eyes OP) - Ayane
Don't have too many of her songs, hmm...

22. Disillusion (FS/N OP)
Well, everyone knows this, lol.

23. Only My Railgun (TAKnRailgun OP) - Fripside
The group had reformed with a new singer. Brilliant job on this song.

24. Catch you Catch me (CCS OP1) - Gumi
Classic OP. Had platinum but figured Maaya has more songs to use.

25. Dear my Friends (Railgun ED) - ELISA
My editing fail. Tried to only include only one of each artist, this one slipped, oops

26. Little Wish (MSL Nanoha ED) - Tamura Yukari
Known for her rabid (AND I MEAN RABID) fanbase. Still, one of the 6 seiyuus to ever have a solo live at budokan.

27. Orange (Toradora ED2) - Kugumiya Rie, Kitamura Eri, Horie Yui
Excellent lyrics and composition for this song. Favourite song in Tora.

28. Toki wo Kizamu Uta (Clannad AS OP) - Lia
Lia graces us once again with this beautiful song. I think this song is many ways better than Air, especially when you compare the lyrics of this song to the show.

29. Geki! Teikoku Kagekidan (Sakura Wars) - Chisa Yokoyama
Fun song is fun.

30. Groovin' Magic (Diebuster OP) - Round Table Feat. Nino
Round table is probably more known to the general viewers for their songs in Chobits, .hack//twilight and maybe ARIA if you have seen it. A cool group to check out.

31. Ten Years After (8th Mobile Suit Team ED) - Yonekura Chihiro
One of her Debut songs. She's been a long time, and has a huge track record. I also love her OP for Kaleido Star (Yakusoku no basho e)

32. Nyanderful! (Nyan Koi OP) - Sakakibara Yui
Again, shes extremely active in the eroge songs industry. She's a nice singer, so I have no complaints. And a fun MC.

33. Forever... (Elemental Gelade OP) - Savage Genius
Aa-chan is so cute :3

34. DOGFIGHT (initial D 4th stage OP) - m.o.v.e
Yuri has a sexy voice, and motsu has cool break dancing moves. Great live artists as well as recording.

35. Shin Ai (White Album OP) - Mizuki Nana
Her claim to fame was her role (and songs) in the Nanoha franchise. Easily the most popular singer/seiyuu out there today, and has even made an appearance on Kouhaku. Her last live attracted I think, over 40,000 people? The definition of success, and the second seiyuu/singer to step onto the Budokan for a solo concert (Shiina Hekiru was #1)

36. Akatsuki no Kuruma (Gundam Seed INST) - FictionJunction YUUKA
iirc FJ has Kaori, Wakana, Yuuka... and someone else I can't remember sad. Formed by Kajiura Yuki, again, and her composing makes FJ one damn awesome group, espeically with Nanri Yuuka leading the vocals.

37. THE LIGHT BEFORE WE LAND (Gunslinger Girl OP) - The Delagos
One of the rarer instances where a song is recorded by a non-Japanese band.

38. DRAMATIC (Honey and clover OP) - Yuki
Her singing voice is quite a unique one, and the anime itself was just fabulous.

39. Chi ni Kaeru ~on the earth~ (Starship Operators ED) - KOTOKO
Kotoko has done quite a lot, starting with Shooting Star from Onegai Teacher. Part of I've enterprises. However, this is one of my favourite songs from her. Shimamiya Eiko (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Naraku no Hana) was actually her voice tutor. Bit of trivia there.

40. Dunbine Tobu (Aura battler Dunbine OP2) - MIQ
She is manly enough to sing for many robot shows. ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!

41. Kuusou Rumba (Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei OP) - Ootsuki Kenji & Zetsubou Shoujo-tachi
RUMBA RUMBA RUMBA RUMBA Ootsuki is known for these sort of weird songs. (Dancing baby humans anyone?)

42. Kimi no Shiranai monogatari (Bakemonogatari Theme song) - supercell
Ryo (the composer) started as a doujin composer, creating well-known Miku songs such as Koi wa Sensou, and Sekai Ichiban Ohime Sama. Found a great vocalist, nagi, recorded the single for Bakemonogatari, and hey presto, one of the best anime songs of 2009. Sayonara Memories is also a pretty good single.

43. LOST IN SPACE (Tytania ED) - Physic Lover
I didnt expect anyone to get this, as the show kinda of flopped, but people did. Physic Lover is a pretty dynamic duo, yo.

44. Miracle Fly (Sorakake Girl OP2) - Kuribayashi Minami
One of the moer popular singers, debuted with precious memories from Kiminozo. Distinctive, powerful style. Newest song can be heard in Katanagatari.

45. Blue Water (Nadia of the Blue Waters OP) - Miho Morikawa
One of those older GAINAX shows. Good song, though.

46. Asu e no Kizuma (Valkyria Chronicles OP1) - HIMEKA
HIMEKA is Canadian. She won a Karaoke contest in Canada, and scored herself a contract, and is now working/singing in Japan. Shows that Japanese isnt actually xenophobic and even gaijins have a chance to make it there. GOGO!

47. Seishoujo Ryouiki (Rozen maiden Traumend OP) - ALI PROJECT
Ali Project is one of those love-or-hate bands. Critics claim all their songs are in fact remixed from one track, and lovers say its just their distinct style. Anyway, Erika is a great live performer, and her costumes at Animelo gets more flashy each year.

48. Twilight ~True Light~ (D. Gray Man ED) - Miyamoto Shunichi
Everyone knew this one, heh.

49. Kimi Shinitamou Koto Nakare (Shangri-La OP) - May'n
May'n debuted as the singing voice of Sheryl Nome in macross Frontier, and quickly gained popularity as a result. Very powerful voice, capable of standing on even footing with the awesome Masami Okui.

50. Alternative (Asura Cryin' 2 OP) - Angela
Angela is another artist duo with a very unique voice, making it perfect for diabolic/cultish songs. Probably better known for her Fafner theme songs, but I like Alternative more, espeically the chorus. 8D

51. Mellow Melody (Sola ED) - Ceui
She has a mellow, transparent voice which make her songs nice to listen to.

52. Hiru no Tsuki (Outlaw Star ED1) - Akino Arai
Arai has been singing for a long time. She is most popular for her songs as Sharon Apple in Macross Plus. Her voice is so soothing~

53. masterpiece (Index OP2) - Kawada Mami
Mami is a member of I've enterprises, which was founded in 1999 to sing songs for VNs (starting with Kanon). Kotoko, Mell, Lia have all been in I've, or still is.

54. Sakura Amaneku Sekai (D.C. II S.S. OP) - yozuca*
Best OP for the best DC anime series. yozuca* is well known for her D.C songs and recently released a new album.

55. Katakyou no Tori (Umineko OP) - Shikata Akiko
Akiko has an enchanting voice, making her songs perfect for this series. Her game OP is not one to be missed.

56. Karma (Tales of the Abyss OP) - Bump of Chicken
The most mainstream band on my list 8D. Now, where did my marbles roll off to...

57. Hoshizuku no Surround (Sora no Manimani ED) - Coorie
Another mellow singer. I seem to really like these kind of singers, hmm. SnM is a pretty good show too, although impractical since we live in the SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE, and don't see those constellations.

58. Florescence (Kanon 2002 ED) - Miho Fujiwara
I assume most of the people would have seen the 06 but not the 02 version, so I stuck it in to quiz you. Heh.

59. Moonlight Densetsu (Sailor Moon OP) - Dali
Everyone's favourite childhood show, woo.

60. Ai, Oboeteimasu Ka (SDF Macross - Do you Remember Love) - Iijima Mari
A most classic song for an epic movie. Tee lyrics transcend time and space, and finds a way into your hearts. One of the golden songs to come out of the golden age of anime. Huzzah!

61. We Are (One Piece OP) - Kitadani Hiroshi
Another Jam project member \o/ One piece music is composed by Tanaka Kouhei, known for his awesome mecha scores.

62. HANAJI (Maria+Holic OP) - Kobayashi Yuu
Crazy song, sung by a crazy woman. Got that? (For why she is crazy refer to the M+H cast interviews as a bonus on the DVDs)

63. Ano Hi Time Machine (Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou OP) - Long Shot Party
A much more upbeat and nicer soundng song than the OP for season one. The better season too, although both were good.

64. Sayonara Solitia (Chrono Crusade ED) - Chiba Saeko
SAEKO SAIKOU (ry too bad she got married and is probably pregnant meaning shes gonna go from one show a year down to none. D:

65. Precious Memories (Kimi ga Nozomu Eien OP) - Kuribayashi Minami
Well, I guess I had to put her debut song in here :p

66. Kimi ni Todoke (Kimi ni Todoke OP) - Tanizawa Tomofumi
This OP was a good mood setter for the show, which was wonderful. KAWAII YO SAWAKO KAWAII

67. Makka na Chikai (Busou Renkin OP) - Fukuyama Yoshiki
HE. IS. AWESOME. Jam Project + Basara + KING GAINER + this. Awesome singer is awesome. Wish I went to his live in Taiwan at the start of this year sad

68. Madoromi no Rinne (Utawarerumono ED) - Kawai Eri
RIP.
Kawai Eri has such a beautiful voice, quite literally the "voice of heavens" as used to describe Athena Glory's singing in ARIA (which was done by her). Also had an excellent cover of Cruel angels https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKCwkWdypy0 Passed away due to cancer 4th August 2008.

Ending - Coccoro (ARIA inst) - Kawai Eri

There are a few more good artists I ran out of time for, such as the veteran Sakamoto Maaya, akino Yui and the awesome MASAMI OKUI, but I guess you can find them in your own time :)

Will post more later, this will take a while to type up.

This was pretty awesome man, maybe next time though, have max a quarter

updated up to 40.

I had like 20-30 more songs lined up, with good artists such as Sakamoto Maaya, Shimokawa Mikuni and Makino Yui (and OH YES MIZUKI ICHIROU), but ran out of time. as for mainstream, there are good songs, but I figured it would be boring if we had a lot of them. As I wanted to introduce new artists people may not have come across before.

I'm thinking of doing a panel on the Japanese voice industry next year, lol

This was fun! I knew more than I thought I would.
/is pretty sure she was the only one who recognised the Utawarerumono ending...
Though definitely put a little more mainstream in next time, some people were just sitting there talking and I couldn't hear some. Or maybe they were just idiots. I'll bring things to throw next time.

I consider it a success if just one person has an interest in following up some of these artists.

As for the Utawarerumono ED, Kawai Eri is one of my favourites. Heavenly voice, too bad she passed away due to cancer 。・゚・(ノД`)・゚・。. I do have one of her memorial albums though, and is considering more.

I did thoroughly enjoy the pannel, I think I did quite well (was cosplaying Gendo Ikari). A few facepalm moments at my own lapsing knowledge, but overall have learnt a lot. And the variety I think was just perfect.

I'm already following up some~ and I only found out she had died at the panel, that is really sad. I should download some more of her music.

This list is getting really long, lol. 41-50 up.

I didn't fully appreciate Kawai until after she died, and after I watched ARIA. I have heard her in Uta before that, but her work in ARIA was just so outstanding... T_T
