| I've got the bottom layer & petticoat sewn up for Shannon's dress, but I don't enough fabric for the top layer, so I can't continue the skit till sunday * facepalm*
I had noooo idea it'd be about 6m a layer, maybe I made it too poofy....? poofyness is wonderful |

| This is sort-of progress, I guess. Apart from deciding what I'm going to cosplay next year and -- argh I need to upload those sketches for the DDS outfits!!
Currently in the midst of designing a Steampunk/Victorian Dormouse design so I can join in Icarus' Dark Rabbit and Thornback's Steampunk Caterpillar fun. Colour theme will be a dark blue/-grey. Maybe will use blue wig... I'm thinking lower-class Victorian England workhouse/Oliver Twist-esque design with patches blanket-stitched on. And blue eye make-up to present the illusion of bruised shadows under the eyes.

| Uhrr never thought that would ever post in this thread, but think is finding some sort of general cosplay progress. Have found a old Yuki Sohma cosplay from 2006, it's really bad- but is going to refix it by asking Mum to help and add some white lines around the black top and get a more decent tie and a actual grey wig- yeah didn't have a wig before, that's how bad it was. When's that done, will finally a cosplay to wear around Christchurch picnic meetings( etc )
Also is starting to loose weight so will feel more comfortable when has made future cosplays.
It's little, but it's progress.~

| In the process of making Lenalee's red skirt. Dear god it's taking ages. Sewing each pleat so it stays Dx. Mark - fold - iron - sew - measure and repeat. FOR EVERY LINE. It will look awesome though when it's done >w<

| I got some advise/tips for my next chchgeddon cosplay!! I now just have to find material in colours that I haven't seen in chch yet... This is going to be lots of fun to make but challenging in regards to putting it all together and finding the right colours/fabric.

I bought fabric medium (Golden Acrylics) and squirted whatever it took for the acrylic paint to become runny-ish. It says a 1:1 ratio but it was hard to measure, so I did whatever. I find getting clean edges is easier with a runnier mixture, but the paint is thinner. so I have to do a few layers to get the colour in. I mixed up thicker paint for the 2nd+ layers though. The fabric medium runs through the fabric (quilter's homespun or something from Spotlight) so remember to put mailers underneath (I find newspaper gives off the inky smudges). I also had 2 kinds of brushes - one with a square head and one with a pointy head. The square head is easier to work with to get edges straight and corners. The pointr one pokes everywhere. I really just spend a lot of time getting the edges right, and going over slowly. I had to lean in close as well to see if it was straight. xD Any more questions? :B
I still need to iron the paint to set it in, but, I have 2 more red rectangles to do... |

 Momizi armwarmers~ I still need to give them 'ribbon' i.e. paint it on cause I'm a cheater like that.  Lenalee's skirt. Well, beginning of it. THAT TOOK ME HOURS Dx. And the pleats are only like, a 6th through OTL. It'd a lot brighter in the photo than what it actually is.  Maya's wing~ I made it in time for the WCB. And then forgot to bring it with me OTL. //fails I'm gonna paint it better now that I have more time~ Annnndd yeah. That's all for progress photos at the moment. I'm on a sewing roll atm, so more might come soon xDDD

Thank you  It's by far my most uncomfortable costume to date (lucky I'm not claustrophobic) but it should be cool
