That I left this like this an hour or so ago...

TO GET TO THE POINT OF THE THREAD: This thread is to illustrate (photographic evidence is encouraged, although not required) any progress you've made. Any cosplay, doesn't have to be one for a specific event~

Let other people see what progress you're proud of, or use it to get a kick up the backside to get a move on (Shannon + Rowan = guilty).

oh, and also with tartan if you dont want the shiny ribbony look you can also use bias 8DD

Figuring out how much net you need for a tutu skirt requires a lot of math, good news is I've found the right colour net in the right type and it's only $3.50m bad new is I need HEAPS of it, dunno quite how much yet though dammit this is confusing

Front of dress & sleeve^ It looks pretty bad with just the outlining, and be wiping excess paint off where it's eventually going to be painted XDD

& character I want to cosplay to DO has two pictures of her online, one of which is EXTREME CLOSE UP of face and the other bust and up.
So I'm going to have to rewatch the anime and screencap her. Oh dear >___>

I would go to a school uniform shop and find out where they get the material from/try to buy some off them. And check out the local fabric shops. They often have a limited selection of school weight tartans.

I have to do a full kilt for mine by ChCh Geddon. Once I have chose the tartan I will email a trader in Aussie, and talk to the local kilt maker, see if I can get the proper lightweight wool/synthetic summer blend which costs about $100, as opposed to $800. Then I have to beg an industrial machine once I have figure out how to do it the proper way. (Dang cosplay rules.) And then leather, and leather dye for the belts, etc.

Then again you can always buy the wool (probably the cheap synthetic stuff), and weave it. You would have to find some wood and knock up a loom. But in theory it is not hard. Or attend you local craft group, and beg the loan of a loom, and some help. (Or commission it.) For SCA purposes I will probably have to dye the wool and then weave it, then worst it, unless I can figure out a better way to get/make a brat. Seems like a long term plan to me.

Holy carp Azeria, that is looking SO GOOD. I can't wait to see the finished result!

Finally got the fabric for my ACP cosplay today, it isn't the colour I wanted but it will do. Eff you, crappy selection of stretch fabrics that aren't lycra. Shouldn't take too long to make, I hope :3 YAY FOR NO ZIPS
