FWEEEEEEEEEEEEE~ Anyone have some awesomeful pattern suggestions? Or just general suggestions? I know it's not exactly 'cosplayness' but... deal with it!! >D OH OH, but it is! I need to make a few for practice, as I'm hoping to make a huge Dectective Kunkun for Auckgeddon. Bet your all excited now! Well... If you don't want your eyes burnt out by the sight of something slightly resembling a yellow dog... Helps? <333 |

| When I made a plushie, I made my own plushie pattern.
It's really easy, you just get a random plushie of similar shape to what you wanna do and try and figure out the limb shapes and the like.
Chins are really hard to pattern though. >> |

| Jess once made a Kero plushie for Jen - 'twas a christmas present.
Oh - and I was going to make one... but I couldn't get any felt T_T.
Uhh - I suggest starting with a simple one like I was going to do - circular head, flat body. So you gut the two halves into like sixths or something and then just cut out the basic body shape and sew 'em aaaaaaaaall together. |

| Keysha-chan has a pattern for people~ When I did Kero, I looked at him and figured out where the best places to put the seams were, and then made the edges curved to make it more 3d-ish. Sorry - it's not the best instruction, but I actually can't describe it any better than that. n_n;;
@Strieth: Last year's Auckgeddon Kiba bought a cat plushie and modified it. XD You can give that a go if you want~ |

Re: Plushies 8D By Duckeh. 12/06/08, 02:09 pm |
| Overlockers make it so the edges don't unravel which happens with alot of fabrics, it also makes teh finished garment look much more proffessional. Ummm~ Also you can sometimes just use an overlocker instead of a sewing machine for 'sewing' it together. :3
But really it doesn't do anything 'new' as such... It'll just make it BETTER. D=< |

Re: Plushies 8D By jpwise. 12/06/08, 02:15 pm |
| *runs away and does a search*
ah ha! *looks at sleeve of t-shirt* - i see now!
- Random site wrote:
- an overlocker is a 'finishing off' machine really. If you look inside your t shirts at the seams you will see a row of loops on both sides of the seam which enclose the edges of the fabric. An overlocker does this, it trims off the edges and neatens them with the stitches at the same time. Some can also do the double row of stitches round the hem of t shirts and other knitted articles (this is called a cover stitch).

Re: Plushies 8D By jpwise. 12/06/08, 02:37 pm |
| ok, kinda off the plushies subject now.
but just looking through some of the info on the sewing machine it's got a stretch overlock and an elastic overlock stitch listed, does that mean it can do limited overlocking stuff? supposedly it has a twin needle option that i'm guessing it uses to do the overlock stitches, but wouldn't cut the edge, or at least that's my guess. http://www.brothermachines.com/product_pdfs/BM2600%20BM3600.pdf |
