OKAY. I got my Reith wig.
It is driving me INSANE. It's not even 100cm as it was advertised it to be. It's around 75cm from the end of the hair parting to the end of the wig. I'm actually glad that it's not 100cm. I think I would have gone insane due to the knots and tangles.

I've made one really loose plait because Rachel said I should because it'll tangle less.
Uuughh. Do not want to touch that wig since it'll just knot if I do.

you can easily detangle wigs by getting a silicon spray lubricant at a hardware store... it separates the fibers and makes it easier to brush... /might help, idk

Question~

With Maya's skirt, there are four seams. There are two at the side on both the front and the back.

I'm wondering how I should do the skirt up. A zip to the side (not side of the body, but side to the back, if that makes sense) would be a bit weird.

I really want to recreate the shape of Amila's dress in the original artwork. Because it opens at the front, I can't do a full hoop skirt, so I'm contemplating building the framework for the shape into the lining of the dress by sewing in channels that I can put something rigid (maybe just plastic boning?) into... Does anyone know if this idea will actually work...? sweatdrop

Pura: With Maya's akirt, because it's so full, I don't think an elastic waistband is out of the question...a side-back zip would be a bit strange - you could sneak in an extra seam at the centre back and put a zip in there, or rather than doing a full seam, just a smaller slash down the centre back for a zip to be sewn into. You wouldn't be able to hide that though, so the zip would have to match perfectly.

@Static Using elastic would make it bunch up xD. But if I like the top a little longer, you wouldn't be able to see that. Hmm, maybe I should make another seam :/ Would fastenings or something work? I'm pretty sure it should have a wasitband xDD.

@Jen: Ohoh - thank you! I'm contemplating using plastic boning as opposed to steel as plastic will be easier to travel with I think (given that this is for wellington) - do you think that'd be a problem at all? o_O Maybe I should just try it and find out, lol.

i think i can die happy now. i'll start mixing the medley thing again, then-- AND THIS MEANS WE HAVE TIME FOR THE DIALOGUE AT THE START! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. now to remember what songs we chose.

edit; also the rules say that groups of ten or more can email the judges to negotiate a longer time. this may not be necessary, but it gives us a chance for leeway!

I've finally finished something~

Petticoats are done~ I have yet to decide if it's enough poof though :/
I think it might be for my height, lol. But I'll take photos when I get home //at Syill's house 8D

I think I will do my main skirt with an elastic waistband, too~

I have almost all the material I need, which is a first for me - starting a cosplay months before I need it, instead of a week 8DDD;;

... Also, I keep forgetting about the bells OTL. I still have no clue how I'm going make them Dx. Also haven't thought much about the wings xDDD;;

WITH REGARDS TO THE WIG i would like some opinions-- most MC justina cosplayers pick light blonde wigs but. if you look at her character art, she REALLY doesn't have blonde hair, so i wanted to pick a wig like this one or this one OR this one which is a pink/blonde mix? what do you think?
