2010 Events Brainstorm

Hi Guys!

Okay - we're asking you what you want to see events wise at this convention. There are a lot more options available to us now as this event is for the anime die hards only.

So what will it be? Tetris, non-stop skits, live action cosplay chess, hall cosplay contest, fight scenes re-constructed, character therapy sessions? The sky is the limit, and the more creative your ideas the better. >w<

... panels? If we have a couple of anime groups they could perhaps do a panel?
Also debate panel ... sub vs dub, anime vs manga etc?

oh yup! Would be pretty nifty to do some panels, actually. :3 (though we're probably going to have to watch the sub vs dub thing if they get the english VAs in, heheh.)

Its all good Mandie, we just want any ideas, even ideas for ideas ahah.
I'ma researching other cons, and just throwing ideas at the moment without focusing on how to organise/run them at this stage.

Here's another,
Scavanger/treasure/cosplayer/anime hunt (one of them not all of them lol) throughout the con? We'd have to check with Bill first but there's another idea.

Yeah I think guys if you can't think of ideas but are reading this thread tell us of the ideas listed so far what you'd be keen to participate in.

and maybe musical performances? otakon usually hires a small group of people from the eminence orchestra and they play videogame/anime theme songs etc. /could facilitate

plus things like tetris/asteroids/pacman comps would probably attract a lot of students

could have a dub the anime competition, where we could have a popular (or not so)scene from an anime playing and volunteers can dub it - whether they say the actual dialogue or make it up.

if we don't have an amv contest, could just go with a screening instead?
will there be an anime/manga drawing contest?

I like the sound of Archery. 8D Would have to use cheap little $2 Store bow and arrows with the little suction cup thingys on the tips. :3

Although... they're so hard to use. @_@ SO TINY. Real bow and arrow would be easier. But 100% impossible.

Plushie Racing? Do you strap plushies to remote controlled cars and race them? 8DDD Srsly, what is this?

I like the sound of a scavenger hunty thing. :3 You could do a merchandise hunt! We get the stores support to have special items that they don't sell until after the scavenger hunt... and people must go around the stores and find the items on their list and write down the stores that had them? :3

There was a con that had the two events I just listed, both were held in a room.

For Archery: how tiny is tiny? I haven't seen the $2 ones ... well they used big bows only they had some kinda ohwhatdoyoucallthem sucker things? >> suction cups?

Plushie Racing: yup pretty much LOL, they had tracks around the room, I think which were made of tape by the looks of it? They had two racing at a time.
I think thats all there was too it, heheh if we decided to do this we could get multiple cars, have a betting system, and put obsticles in the tracks etc ROFL.

yeah... like I said I'm basically just writing all ideas I find or can think of, at the moment, and worrying about how to organise later on if we decide to go with any <3

Another one, make a cosplay - though what seems more fitting for this con, make a gundam? So teams get boxes/tape etc and have a set amount of time to make the best/strongest looking gundam.
