| Hopefully going to see it tomorrow. I honestly go to these movies FOR action and over-the-top special effects and such, not story. That way, nothing dissapoints.
I loved the first one anyway, even if it really only featured the Transformers rather than starred them.

| Oh but it can dissapoint. Even if you go in expecting 'durr Michael Bay explosions' it can still dissapoint. What I'm trying to say is that even the action is being impeded upon. If the action doesn't even flow together properly then it just doesn't work. The start of the movie was fine, but it becomes increasingly disjointed as it moves along. |

Re: Transformers 2! By Doughtnut_Bandit. 25/06/09, 03:15 am |
| That was the crappiest movie I have seen in a long time...
The endless bad humor and them not even introducing any of the new transformers, you had to read number plates and such. And since they never resembled any of their counter parts I had trouble figuring out who the heck was who... Once again, every Decepticon was a grey mish mosh of metal (Devestator aside) and that gets incredibly annoying during the action scenes.
@CMKMStephens: What Insecticons? How did you know who was who, unless you knew before the movie due to information other then what the movie supplied. Also I spent most of the movie wondering who the silver car (Sideswipe, even though he's supposed to be red) even was.
This is a bad film, sure I had problems with the first one, but this make that one look like a good movie to me.
Far too much focus on stupid ball jokes, about "Black" robots not being able to read (THEY EVEN GAVE ONE A GOLD TOOTH!) and the plot was complete nonsense.
Only thing I liked, Ravage. He looked cool and did a couple of cool things, but once again you barely saw the Autobots do much after the first scene. It was more the Gung Ho Americans to save the day.
Complete and utter trash, I never left a theater so mad in my life. The Transformers should be the main focus of the damn film, not a feature!
This film was made with no regard from what it came/is based on and it's just another crummy explosion movie with terrible humor and badly shot action scenes that never let you see what the heck is going on. Just like Star Trek had dumbed itself down for the jocks and jerks that used to make fun of people like me for liking it, Transformers is another poorly written piece of trash that Hollywood shoves down our throats and instead of actually seeing it as a bad movie most will enjoy it for the annoyingly bad joke fest that it is. People clapped when it ended in the theater and the movie made me want to cry.
OH! And Megatron taking orders willingly!? He's no ones B&%$H! He defies a planet sized Transformer in the 1986 movie, and yet he's being called an "Apprentice" by the main baddie. That's right, Megatron is not the main bad guy here (although I knew the Fallen was before the movie was even out, I figured it would eventually be everyone agianst the Fallen). What is this STAR WARS? Don't even get me started on the Species/Battlestar galactica ripoff either. They just took bits from successful science fiction movies/series and made a crappy: OH NOES TEH WORLD IS GOING TO END IF WE DON'T DO *Insert objective here* BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! |

| SO BAD. I am not a Transformers nut, but I did watch and enjoy it as a kid. I watched the 1st one with trepidation last week, expecting bad. Wow, BAD.
I went into 2 thinking, hey, how bad could it be? Really?
ALL OF THE BAD
All of it.
A mini transformer humps the leg of Megan Fox.
WTF!!
I couldn't even enjoy it as a bad action film, and I LOVE bad action films. Seriously, I LOVE bad action films for the sake of bad action films. I collect them! I was SO MAD at this film.
So many plot holes, so much sugar honey iced tea, so much ripped off from other franchises, so many bad jokes, so much terrible dialogue and pointless characters.
I think its worse than Battlefield Earth, quite honestly. I was at least able to enjoy Battlefield Earth on a bad film level. |

| To quote various critics: "Leave it to Michaek Bay to take the fun out of explosions" "Compared to this sequel, the first Transformers, which was released two years ago, ranks right up there with Kant's Critique of Pure Reason." "The only part of Fallen more boring than when things are exploding is when things aren't exploding" "A joyless, humorless, bloated carcass of an event movie...Nothing kills the euphoric buzz of exceptionally articulated carefree mindlessness quite like a newly emboldened Michael Bay." "At once loud and boring, like watching paint dry while getting hit over the head with a frying pan. And at two and a half hours, it really is very long." |

| I personally enjoyed the film.. I went in there expecting an action film with pleanty of explosions, a plot full of holes and a giant robot death match!
Needless to say I was not dissapointed I mean sure.. there was no way it was going to be as sucessful as the first movie.. but then again its still a good movie over all! with a great musical track

OH NOES!!!
Fracking Michael Bay.
"America! F*CK YEAH!"
THEY INVADED ANOTHER COUNTRY!
They made this huge deal about how they actually filmed at the Pyramids - but I don't fracking see why, because they had to CG in the robots, CG out the CITY THAT ACTUALLY SURROUNDS THE PYRAMIDS, build some set, scare away the tourists ... The scenes that included the pyramids were so CG that filming in Nevada and making a polystyrene pyramid would have looked better. |

Just my 10c on the topic.. You mean the same music he has in all his movies? Because it's all the same, maybe he should have at least put the friggin Transformers theme in there... Even if it was after the film. |

| I liked the film. The only downside for me were the twins and mother. she was too try hard but other then that the rest was ok. Maybe could have done with a bit more editing but who am I to judge. I probably couldnt have done half of what Michael Bay achieved. |

| Saw it today ~~ Personally I think it has no plot or developed characters. Doesn't portray anything.. just lot of action scenes in which I couldn't tell what was happening.. The robots were too much. Maybe it was me but I couldn't see which metal arm belonged to who >_>; I expected worse though..but I'm no judge on "bad/good" movies. |

It was bad but in a guilty pleasure kinda way I enjoyed laughing at it. Plus the dudes on either side of me were 'gasming over Megan Fox.

I is the exact same age (almost to the hour remember XD) and I really really enjoyed it XD, I am both a fan of the originals series and the movies.....and deep down I have a love for the Transformers:Robots in Disguise series (the one with Hot Rod and his love of lil red sports cars) I don't want to compare the movies to the original series, there have been many transformers adaptations and they all portray the transformers universe in the different way....thats my opinion anyways, I'm not going to jump on someone and rip their eyes out if they don't like the movies, to each their own. I think if everyone had the same opinion the world would implode.....I don't want the world to implode. |

Personally I liked it. I was a lover of the original series, and I also own the whole series in that big tin box thing. (Marathon anyone?)
I still enjoyed the movie. and I lold when
- Spoiler:
They introduced the Matrix of leadership Originality ftw...
Really it wasn't all that bad, I prefer not to compare them anymore, but I enjoyed it, you gotta remember there were a million more loopholes in the original series. Like Skyfire dying, and then returning again 3 episodes later.
I just don't like Megan Fox, she's silly, and just eyecandy. Anyone else notice the Naruto poster in the nerds room? I kinda did, but was too busy staring at the Mountain Dew machine....... |

Oh original Transformers wasn't actually Japanese It was 100% American, an Anime wouldn't have had so many mistakes in it.
When the Japanese did take over though, they focused too much on the transformation of each character, rather than just plain old laserfire for 20 minutes. |
