Re: Favourite Authors? By P-Layton. 12/11/09, 01:14 pm |
| This will take awhile; I love way too many authors. So I'll shorten it off to five. To start with there's Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, he's rather awesome. Then there's Cathrien Webb, great writer, SRSLY. To add another, there's Catherine Jinks. I also really like Derek Landy. Last but not last is: Stephanie Meyer! Hahah, jokes, don't worry... |

| Chuck Palahniuk - for his juvenile anarchy. Philip K. Richard - comes up with the most fascinating and interesting ideas. Kazuo Ishiguro - is one of my favourites for 'Never Let Me Go' alone. William Shakespeare - no explanation necessary. Vladimir Nabokov - he is so witty. |

Yeah the incest always weird people out when I tell people about her books, but I just love how she can write from a character's POV from being a child to elderly, still making it obvious what character they are but growing & changing with age at the same time. Not many authors can pull that off, & get away with incest! |

Every single sex scene in those books is squicky as heck. |

Second list is all comic book authors:

Third list is a mix of both comic and book authors:
1. Neil Gaiman 2. Jorge Luis Borges 3. Warren Ellis 4. H.P. Lovecraft 5. Alan Moore

Dude
Robert Kirkman is probably my favourite. I love Invincible. The more I read (I'm not really that far, we only have up to TPB 6) the more I fall for it. It's so sad and funny and... Yeah, I'm just going to keep rambling-largely incoherently- if I continue on. I like his stuff even more than Whedon's Astonishing run (and I really adore that).
Also Science Dog :3 |

Re: Favourite Authors? By CamusCanDo. 17/04/10, 12:20 pm |
| I had to skim through trade 6. real quick to remember what arc it covered. Ahahah, Science Dog indeed! Oh man, I really need to do a re-read of Invincible sometime soon. I love Kirkman solely for the fact that he said no to Marvel and pretty much carried on with his own intellectual property. That and the fact that everything he does is magic is pretty sweet too! Oh man, Whedon's run on Astonishing is what reminded me that he's capable of writing great comic stuff now that it's been announced he's directing AND writing The Avengers movie. I had to take a look back on happier Whedon times, his run on Runaways was still fresh in my mind when the news was announced. |
