[SCCC09] SCCC Planning Thread

Yo sup!

So this here... was/is the plan, and has been the plans since last year. LETS MAKE IT WORK THIS TIME!

~ We're gonna hold another cosplay camp (hopefully) this time with more of you Southern peoplez.)
~ We'll meet up in Timaru which is sorta halfway point, where we are staying is yet to be planned but I'm thinking that lodge we were originally going to stay at.
~ The aim is to have fun, to cosplay, and TO GO TO THE CARNIVAL YUPYUP!

Don't get your hopes up, its not very big - I mean hey its Timaru. But still its got a few rides and its pretty cheap~
Its running from the 26th of December to the 11th of Jan.
So to make our camp even more awesome, we want to hold it during the carnival time~

Anyway, thats that.

I suggest we go sometime in the first/second week of Jan, so that people can spend New Years with family/whatever they're up to...
and that we set a date quick so that people can tell mum and dad not to plan to go camping/whatever then...

3rd and 4th would be ideal for me, I have to be back in Dunedin by the 5th as that's when my holiday ends and I'd be coming up to Chch for New Years so making my way down to Timaru would be quite convenient for me.

I'd also be happy to help organise as well.

Yuss... 'cause weren't we going to have the one day van as well?
Except that hopefully I'll be able to come for both days so I don't want to drive a one day van...
(let's say people coming one day have to arrange transport, and hopefully they can all go together carpooling... maybe.)

I'd like to stay two nights (and three days)... except that it would mean that the drivers might be really tired coming back on the last day, which would also be bad...
and also it'll be easier for people to organise two days off from ~~life~~ other stuff so that they can come...

As far as I remember, Jp did all the searching for the vans, and helped with accommodation as well as Will and me. I'm thinking of seeing if we can stay at the same place as we were going to last time maybee.

SO! What kinds of things do people want to do at this camp?! I'm sure that sitting around for two days has it's merrits, but I could do that at home!

Do we want SCAVENGER HUNTS? or FLASHMOB FUN TIEMS or CONSUMPTION OF FAR TOO MUCH SUGAR??!

though that does strike a question of how we get everyone to the carnival hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I dont know, it depends if we have enough cars.
I dont know how many are going yet. But I told (mostly) everyone about the camp at the halloween party, and that we'll need yes/no answers soon.
