Resident Evil series By LithiumCrystal. 14/10/08, 11:19 am |
| And in no way do I mean the movies. *Blergh!* I am a gigantic fan of the games, and its a big time for it right now... 1. Resident Evil 5 is hitting the shelves early next year. It looks amazing! 2. Resident Evil: Degeneration, which is the CG film comes out in Japan on the 18th. Any thoughts? Especially, do we think that Degeneration will come here and would you see it? |

| I really don't like the action-focused direction the series seems to be taking with the new game. It looks as though it's going to end up just being another shoot-from-cover gears of waresque 'tactical shooter'.
That said, I'll still buy it and play it to death, but DAMN will I rage if they include a merchant in this one.
As for degeneration coming here, it really doesn't matter. That's what the internets are for. =3 |

| Yeah. I am not a big fan of 4, but hopefully 5 will include more survival horror elements. I think it is unfair if Degeneration doesn't come here, I mean, they'll play the crappy Hollywood movies but not the REAL movie? I'm not keen to watch it on the internet either. I want some of my money to go to the creators. I will certainly be buying it on DVD no matter what. Kinda like my sister being determined to buy Speed Racer on DVD, but not as manic... <.<; |

| What kind of weird person expects to make a living selling weaponry to people in an area like that? Also I LOVE that 5 has Co-op, I've been wanting a coop Resident Evil since the third game. |

| I think he sells chainsaws to the Ganado. ^^; Yeah... I'd be bad at co-op. Not what you'd call a lone wolf... More like what you'd call an "IDIOT! SHOOT EM' IN THE HEAD! SHOOT EM' IN THE HEAD!" I never claimed to be GOOD at it... I just like it... T.T |

THEY MAKE NO SENSE It doesn't need to make sense :) , just seeing Mafia Leon tip his hat while holding the Chicago Typewriter and then throwing it up in the air makes you forget all about how little sense that gun makes 8) Now the Handcannon and infinate rocket launcher, you just have too much fun with those to think about anything else I'm a big fan of the games myself Resident evil 5 looks so mean! And I'm seeing Degeneration as soon as it's out on DVD, I assume that it'll be like Advent Children and be straight to DVD. |

| Yeah... That first Final Fantasy film apparently killed the popularity of CG films. Personally, I didn't mind it but obviously, since it was nothing like the games, people got pretty butt-hurt over it. They should have called it something different. That is why, I suppose, CG films based on games go straight to DVD. I don't personally see it as being fair, but people are notoriously good at not being fair. |

Heh-heh butt-hurt heh, anyway I thought FF:AC was good but I perfer to think of it as just a film and not what actually happened after the game. Back on topic though, really Capcom owe us this film after the first three live-action films! I could only stomach the first |

| The movies aren't that bad, as long as you don't think of them as related to the R.E games..
And I'm pretty sure Lithium meant the movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, the one about the alien phantom things, came out in like 2001. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0173840/ |

Re: Resident Evil series By LithiumCrystal. 19/10/08, 04:07 am |
| Well, the thing that gets me about the films (and there is a FOURTH one coming out, can you believe it?) is that even if you don't compare them to the games, boy are they mediocre. Seriously. So they're not Uwe Boll films, but at least his films are so bad they're funny. The "Resident Evil" films just aren't anything much at all. Especially because they are so bloody great at killing off characters that ARE actually good. Rain, Matt, Carlos, etc. They had quite good things going with them and "boom!" dead. Idiots. And Alice? My god... My god. *Retch retch* Yeah, I seriously did not mind The Spirits Within. I wouldn't mind watching it again. My main thing with Advent Children is that you couldn't possibly be expected to take it seriously because it was just so over-dramatic, which I liked, but still... I really hope they didn't expect me to take it seriously. I mean, it was EPIC, but I was laughing all the time because of it... ^^; Please don't take offense. I didn't think it was bad, and I don't even like the Final Fantasy series... |

[url=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0173840/ Oh right THAT Final Fantasy movie , Yeah I tend not to relate video game movies back to their games. I think the first RE movie is bearable(I'll always remember that laser scene ) but from then on I just don't like how they endded up. |

Yeah, I seriously did not mind The Spirits Within. I wouldn't mind watching it again. Yeah I think I heard that they were making a fourth movie, honestly, I assume people like me who really just like Resident evil must be what keeps these movies going. But what bugs me is that they killed off Leon before he could even get any screen time! But at least Jill was in one of them. Well I haven't seen The Spirits Within since I was, hmmm dunno I'll just say a little kid, so I didn't understand much of it, really knowing me I probably felt cheated that it didn't have any characters from the games, I should pick up a copy of it again if I see it cheap. |

Re: Resident Evil series By LithiumCrystal. 19/10/08, 04:53 am |
| That's what ruined it, when they tried to introduce the actual characters. As if... They were all played so WRONG! The only good one was Carlos, and he was nothing like him... AND they killed him off. The first movie was standable. The Red Queen was bloody irratating, though. "You're all going to die down here" OH SHUT UP. You and your FAKE accent! Why do you have to be so negative? I hope someone sends a virus to you, stupid computer girl. *Jumps up and down on her non-existent spine* |

| Only if they're ridiculously fake... Like Brad Pitt's character in Snatch. That was hilarious. When people try too hard, it just grates on my nerves... Like Lila from the Dexter series. <.<; |

| Well Degeneration's out in Japan and from a review I read it's sounding like it's not very good but it sounds like it should be more interesting to people who are hard-core fans of the series. I see myself as a pretty 'hard-core' fan so I guess I'll just have to wait and see it before I can judge it. |

Re: Resident Evil series By LithiumCrystal. 20/10/08, 09:49 am |
| There have been a few reviews. It's very action based, not so much horror based. And of course it appeals more to the fans! It's FOR the fans. It is something that they owed us after the live action films. It isn't like Resident Evil 4, which was meant to gain new fans. This is for veterans, who will enjoy parts of it.
Like everything, it will have its ups and downs. And despite being a ridiculously big fan, it does not impair my ability to respond to things critically. I'm sure I will have a lot to say about it on both sides of the argument. The only difference is that I will be watching it without wanting to be sick, because it doesn't have bloody Alice in it. <.< |
