Ah, thank you both for the tips! Jess, I was thinking of doing it the way you did it-- but the masking tape method could also be good, I think I'll experiment with both. It's just for a piece of Garrus' armour.

And perspex sounds like a good plan for the helmet visor I'm going to be working on, might go digging around and see if I can get it in purple. : D

I really want to go to auckland Armageddon this year mainly because KEVIN EASTMAN.

So far it really depends on when my uni exams because they start that weekend sad

However I am going to start working on a costume as if I am and that costume is this sexy lady

Have looked into supplies and am tossing up between making all the armour with worbla or going the craft foam method (with worbla for only the top shoulder piece) to save on money.
Also want to have a go at scale mail (oh god the shipping prices)
Then just to spend even more money I want to have a play around with polymorph (friendly plastic) for the horns and such
Have also confirmed that next wellygeddon I shall be making Fili and if all goes to plan shall have a Kili (as they should always be a set)

Then I just hate myself and also want to make this other sexy lady

Update time.

I have done more work in the past week than I have in the past 2 months.

Have been working on my female Barbarian and decided to make the armor out of foam as I am dirt poor and have 6kgs of it O_o. Now I must say FOAM IS AWESOME! I have a mixture of it ranging from 2mm-10mm thick and playing with it and seeing how things turn out is super fun.

I have also been having fun with scalemail and chainmail.
