Oh didn't notice that the old thread was edited. I just meant that I wasn't sure if it was even going ahead due to the lack of info till now. Plus expected a thread in the Auck cosplayers section

n_n This thread /has/ been up since November. Also the prospective date had always been the 28th. The picnic is now in it's 5th year and there are heaps of old threads around that's basically the same every year nyan.

Perhaps it's just because these forums started as the Auckland Cosplay forums, but ever since the forum's been created, the ACP main info thread has always been in announcements. :) The info has also been up on Facebook, though I'm not sure if you have Facebook/are part of the CNZ group on FB.

That said, if you can't make it, that's up to you! nodnod

Well, to be honest there isn't much point having numerous threads spread out all over the forum for one event, particularly one as casual as this (even though we see rather large numbers, ACP is, at heart, a casual user run event).

If you were really worried about a perceived lack of information, perhaps the best time to enquire about it is earlier, rather than after an update has been given ;)

It was raining this morning at 7am and grey clouds have begun to thicken and gloom over Auckland city I hope it doesn't affect ACP..
But if it does, what other place shall we take over instead?
AU? Metro maybe? Oooh we could swarm a nice cafe or overwhelm GNC due to its lack of space >: D

Swarming 70+ cosplayers into the metro/gnc/other poor unsuspecting business does not bode well for our good reputation! sweatdrop

We try not to give people a reason to hold grudges against us. ;) Wait upon the official word from the organisers, but in the past what's happened is that the picnic has gone ahead if it's been cloudy/spitting, but just cancelled if it's been torrential rain.

5mins later: :O the Seafood Festival will be on at the waterfront/viaduct during ACP, we should visit that for food ^^ unless someone doesn't like seafood..

The weather forecast says it has a zero percent chance of raining apparently, and it's gonna be something like 22 degrees so we won't burn up! 8D

If it DOES rain, however, where should we take refuge? I'm not familiar with the area, but are the trees good coverage, or should we be getting numbers so that if we decide to move somewhere indoors we can let everyone know easily?

Hi guys, I'm going to go out on a limb without conferring with Tammy, who is more in charge than me. Razz

But if cloudy, it still goes ahead.
If raining, postponed to another weekend. Unless there is a lot of people traveling up for it. {Which I haven't heard?} In which case we'll discuss a back up plan tonight and update thread.

BUT!
Weather forecasts look good. C: So I don't think we need to worry too much.

As JVCA said, if it's cloudy/spitting - we'll go ahead. In the case of rain, ACP is cancelled.

It's up to you guys what you want to do if it rains but please don't made bad decisions.
