My fabric came today!! Well actually it probably arrived yesterday but as I wasn't at home I didn't get it until today. It's absolutely perfect!! Now to figure out when/how to make it all....

@Pura Jess suggesting getting two pieces of foam and sticking them together on the edges except my head hole, and wear it that way. I just burnt my finger with the hot glue gun annnnd it's blistering. Ow.

@Karianna: That's a really good price! Maybe I'll have to invest in one of these... Were they selling them as whole bolts, or just normal by the metre on special?

I sewed my stripes onto the other side of my clover skirt, pleated it and added the waistband. I'll have to iron it tomorrow, but once i see how it looks I need to decide whether to do mine crazy short like hers and wear netball shorts, or make it longer.

By the Bolt, that's all I saw, they were right next to the queue, so I grabbed one while waiting and didn't see the By the metre ones...

@Karianna: The buy the metre stuff is usually $4-$5 a metre anyway so I don't usually bother. (either that or I'm looking at the wrong stuff) I'll have to see if they're selling them at my branch! Very Happy

There's a place in Welly that has a $1-2 bin. I found some $2m stuff that was actually pretty good ($1 stuff is very thin lining), although slightly stretchy xD But better than other stuff.

Figured out what to use to fill in the cracks of my armour and also seal it at the same time yay!

Also, early B-Day present means I now have an Overlocker!! Read through the instructions but I'll need to get some thread for it before I can do anything else :3

So, I have decided that latex-coating of fabric is NOT working for a bodysuit. Which is a pain, because I was enjoying working with it, apart from the TERRIBLE TERRIBLE smell.
Plan two is hot-glue.

Lenalee cosplay so far~ I'm rather happy with it. Because I've started it so far in advance, I've actually sewn it well, so I will end up liking the finished result ;3; (it's never happened before |D)

I got all my fabric and cosplay items out of my place this afternoon. So now I have stuff I can possibly work with if I'm in the mood.

My progress for today: belts and butt pouch finished. Started the katana...first time I've ever made on of these. It is made of cardboard with a wooden dowel up the middle. The hot glue will need some work though: it is not very smooth XD

^ That's my only issue with that method. Stupid hot glue. XD

I'm thinking next time I make one of using a polyfiller or something over the top to smooth it out.

I started beading the dress sleeves of my SSAC today!! Yay! Very Happy

@Kyokogirl I used that method to make my cleaver for Rena.
What I ended up doing it getting some baking paper, put it inbetween the iron and heating the glue up, so them it smooths out. Peel the baking paper off slowly so you don't wreck the smoothness. :)
