| ^and if you're doing only light bends instead of massive stuff like that, you can do it by haaand~ -has been slaving over styrene+craft foam stuff all week-
On that note.
233 pieces later, I've got all the sections for my Chrono headchain. I need to buy some Uhu so I can piece it together, though. :C |

@Kyokyogirl: That coat is turning out so nicely - what have you made it from? It looks like some kind of suiting material in the photo, but I'm not quite sure... @JVCA: I used gabardine for the coat. Love the stuff

Re: General Progress By Guest. 13/02/11, 01:00 pm |
| Larp next month, I'm an alien. Not saying anymore, on account of I know some folks here are going to be there. But I'm making a Geigerspine for my costume. Photodump ahoy!
- Spoiler:
Nearly-naked top with vertebrae being planned out Vertebrae outlined in hotglue drizzled directly onto the shirt. And then filled out. And then spindly bits attached to each alternate vertebrae. I've still got a little work to get the spindly bits to sit right - basically I have to heat them up and then manipulate them, without melting them right off the top. I've found that wrapping them in tin-foil and then holding one end of the tin foil against the iron heats them well without any risk of damage. I've still got to paint the hotglue (metallic green) and then another layer of hot-glue, which will give a very slimy texture to the paint. But I'm still VERY conflicted about the alternate vertebrae. I kinda want something to stick out behind me, but I'm worried of overdoing it. What do you guys think? The top is being worn under a saree.

| Spamming the general progress thread, I do it. Yay, Taokaka cosplay almost done. Need wig, tights and red shorts. For now, please ignore my paper white legs.
Excuse the haphazardness of the photo, I threw it on in 20 seconds and took it off pretty quickly because it's hot as Hell.

Re: General Progress By sakura_petals. 15/02/11, 05:14 am |
| Some of my fabric came today!! It's not quite what I expected (it's extremely see through) but there's enough there to have 4 layers of it to make it less see through. I also got confirmation email that the other fabrics have been posted and the last fabric shop has finally gotten back to me to confirm my order!! Hopefully this means I can stop panicking about this cosplay. |

| @kyokyogirl Yep., just hot glue squirted out of my small-size glue-gun. The spindly bits are entire sticks, cut in half and then attached at either end. |
