JAN 24th - Cosplay Events & Games Day

Okay guys! Midsummer-snow and I have an idea for the next club event ~~(prolly held in Nov,)~~ held during National Cosplay Day - 24th of Jan. So this is an interest thread to see how many people would be interested in participating or watching. The more people keen, the bigger we can plan this.

Before we start, this idea is based on chunin exams/olympic like games... we will ask everyone to get into teams, come up with a team name, catchphrase and team flag.

We will give each team a series of games, activities and contests:
examples:
~ photo scavanger hunt
~ eating contest
~ treasure hunt
~ quiz
~ build a cosplay
~ struggle tournament
~ and much much more.

We'll reward points to teams for various reasons like winning an activity etc.
At the end of the day we'll tally up the points, and the overall winning team will get a prize/s.

So questions

3) Any activites/games you would like to suggest?
4) Any ideas for what we could call this? like COG - cosplay olympic games... only not

Edit: New poll up, Nov 28th was the leading date, but Midsummer and I are debating on whether we should do this for National Cosplay Day instead.
So new poll again.

~ November 28th = 10-2pm (earlier due to Christmas in the park later that afternoon)
~ January 23rd = because its a Saturday
~ January 24th = its Sunday but it is National Cosplay Day
~ Another date (please specify in thread)

4a)i think you have already appropriatly named this one aura,
the chunin exams! or cosplay league challenges!
or "the elite four trials!" or "cosplay combat in christchurch!"
*although that sounds misleading as a title and people
will go into this thread expecting it was battles between
haruhi and yuki cosplayers and kyo vs kagura cosplayers ectect
when really its a day out ^^*

I agree with Cyren VK on this one it doesn't need a big fancy name (but if you still want one I like some of Cyrens' suggestions)

I liked the "Hokage challenge" and "Cosplay Chunin exams" ideas but apart from that I have no idea

Hmmm, seeing as I'm making a Sakura (Shippuden) cosplay for Auck and Chch Geddons then I might break it out for this too.

@Angie: Will you be cosplaying Naruto again?

@Angie: (Again): Just thought I'd let you know that as well as cosplay events like Claire's birthday, there will also be some community events in november that people might have plans for such as Guy Fawkes night (1st weekend of november?) the A & P Show (Mid november I think) and Christmas in the park (Day after Claire's birthday). So we might want to plan around these, show weekend might be good as it's a long weekend yes? Not sure, just suggesting and thought I'd give you a heads up. nodnod

And NCEA level 1- 3 High School Exams usually run through to the 15th Nov- 5th Dec ..

Guy Fawkes night will be on a weekend, most likely a friday or saturday and won't be until the evening anyway. (Need a night sky to see the fireworks! Razz

)We could hold this on the day that it is not on or during the daytime.

Like I said the A & P show is a long weekend so there should still be time to organize this sometime.

Mid december might be a good time for this as well. nodnod

You don't need to change your birthday Claire, it's fine where it is, we can work around it. nodnod

Do let me know if you do plan in January as I might be planning my own birthday then. Razz

Judging just on those dates there, if we want it Saturday theres the 7th, or 21'st or we could have it one of the Sundays. So there are options, and besides if we need to we could just put up a poll and see what date most people are free.
But we're not working out the dates just yet anyway, its a bit too early at this stage. This is just the interest thread ^^

How about donating items instead? Or maybe a and/or situation - meaning can either donate money or objects or both if you're feeling rich enough Razz

I like Mandie's idea of a blind flod course - where you have another team mate watching where you're going and telling you which way to go (like Survivor).

Like the idea about the olympics or something...

Going to this all depends on my stupid roster and other things so letting me know a date sooner would be best - so I can let you know about coming or not.

Right a date, we're hoping to do this in November, otherwise it may have to be next year when Midsummer gets back.

We've got a poll up, its multi choice, so select all the dates where you can make it.
