Friendly costume contest? Nationwide? {Please vote?}

Groups of 5+

Each group stays at a pre-determined place for a weekend with sewing machines etc.

Cosplays must be related. {School girl cosplays, cat eared, etcetc.}

In this weekend they make a cosplay and have a GROUP PHOTOSHOOT, which they post the sunday night up on here.

These would be simple costumes like pleated school girl skirt and a pre-made shirt etc. There are no rules. You could totally change this into a letsgosecondhandclothesshoppingforcostumes weekend. <:

Stupid titles given out as prizes.

Soyes. This is an idea I had while thinking about projects to do for sew alongs in aucks to help people~ It would be even more amazingly awesome if we could get cities to enter as a city, but different people would want to do different things and part of the appeal is making it simple and related. Hiring a hall or something is completely in the question.

Possible date: Will hold a poll for later, obviously school holidays would be a good time.

@SupFitz- No way, boys have cooties. Butofcourse, just make sure your group takes your manlyness into account when they decide what they want to do, unless you WANT to be caught in a skirt? But I'm guessing the big open groups from each city will have manly options too~

NEWS UPDATE:

Due to the extreme keenness of a certain Otago University Arts student, the city of Dunedin has imploded on itself. Experts believe that the city (known for it's catchphrase "is it sugar honey iced tea? or is it chocolate?") was unable to handle such extreme levels of enthusiasm, drive and sheer determination emanating from said student. It's unsure at the moment whether such high levels of keen will be harmful to the rest of the country. Please stay tuned for more information.

I'd like to get a few main organisers for open groups in the main cities if possible~? That way I can help you all get everything together? And we can make suggestions to eachother.

Basically it'll be your job to make sure you have a place big enough for the cosplayers in your distract to come hang and sew and sort out photoshoot times & places for your group. You'd probably be in charge of holding a poll for your groups theme and etc as well?

Butyesss. I suppose it depends on how many people want to enter as a big group or go off with their close friends?

Yup.
For instance, we might choose school uniforms as a theme, as most people have a school uniform cosplay planned and they are one night-able? <:

Orrrr... We could randomly all just add a top hat to the costume of our choice and say our theme was top hats? Razz

But I think something along the lines of formal wear, school uniform, those kinda general themes would be nice. If your costume doesn't fit, it's not a big deal, just come along and do it anyway? <:

Maybe around ACP? Since some people would be making easy costumes for that anyway? And it's after stuff like Christmas and still the summer holidays so most people would have some time to do it in?
