Not sure which cosplay to do this for but I'll think of something. :think:

Not my contest one, I think I'd die if I tried to attempt THAT in 48 hours! X_X

In that case, I'm putting my vote on 'other' and suggesting Mon 5th July - Wed 7th July, as it's both school and Uni holidays, and allows for those who work part time on the weekends - especially as you only get a limited amount of leave each year, which would perhaps be better spent on the weekends of the cons where the costumes are worn rather than the weekend of the costume making. Wink

That failing, I know it said refs in the first post, but what about original ideas?
Not exactly original, more like an outfit based off that character's personality and such?
For instance, a casual!Vocaloid outfit, as long as we do a design before hand and work off that?

An original idea is fine, the ref pic reference was just so that we know what you're making. :)

My thoughts exactly, which is why I didn't vote for that weekend. Razz

But really it does come down to what suits the majority- as I said to those who work weekends, you can do the challenge in your own time if the 'official' time doesn't suit.

But then, doing it over two separate Saturdays wouldn't be allowed in the thread either?

Sewing Party! I love 48 hour film festival and how sleep deprived you get, it only makes sense to apply this to cosplay! I'm down.

This is an awesome and productive idea but I really want to slam something home.

BE CAREFUL WORKING WITH MACHINERY/HOT GLUE/SOLVENTS/SHARP THINGS - missing a deadline is not worth hurting yourself over.

I am very happy that you put in the ceavet about working on props- when people rush/are stressed they neglect safety.

BUT I KNOW YOU'LL ARE SENSIBLE

Once again I think this is a fun and awesome idea- just be careful <MUM TALK OVER>

Hurr! Possible work around for those with work issues? How we do '48 hour costume marathon week' - so the official start date/time is when most people do it, but those who can't must do theirs within the 7 days following the official start? That way no one starts 'early', but those with work can legitimately post in-thread, which really, is half the fun. nodnod

Yep- that idea sounds good for those who work at weekends. In which case, as the poll is at a tie the official weekend will be June 25th-27th, with the 7 day cut off date for those who can't make it July 1st.

So, get thinking guys about what costume you'd like to marathon! (Keeping in mind said warnings about props/armour.)

Maybe there can be some kind of rule, that people are not allowed post pictures of their unused materials until 7pm or later on the night it starts. Just a thought, in case some people try to cheat and start early. Razz

(Not me, lol, I won't post pictures of my unused materials until 7pm). Of course there is nothing stopping someone taking a photo of their unused materials in the morning, working on the cosplay during the day then not posting the photo until 7pm, lol. Razz

I myself hope to be in a group with other people anyway so will hopefully be starting around the same time that everyone else does. sweatdrop

Anyway, putting that out there in case you hadn't thought of it already although no doubt you probably have. nodnod
