I'm sad I couldn't come to Rayjin's, but I had travel issues (I live aaaaaaall the way in a part of Upper Hutt that is about 30mins-40mins walk to a bus stop, and I have no money either lol)

Haha. I live in Upper Hutt too XP. Umm, it was a bit of a non-event really. Hopefully more will happen next time. Especially if we get people other than me and Rayjin going Razz

. So, so far all I have is the beginnings of a shell to my armour. Still, better starting early than with 1 month to go XD.

Yeah haha. I would have gone but I had no ride in so yeah lol. I'm going to need a lot of help, seeing as I'm better at painting things look realistic or awesome but horrible at making it....

I have practically no cosplay experience myself, so I'll be doin' a lot of trial and error to begin with. Then maybe I can offer assistance from then. As for transport, if you need to get in, I've got a car and full license, you just have to let me know (I'm not too sure if I bite though Razz

)

A ride from you will be greatly appreciated if you guys ever do that workshop thing again haha. I was so bummed I missed it. I don't have much cosplay experience either. My only two cosplays were Player 4 from CAD and Medic from TF2. Anyhoo...should stop before I get told off for talking off topic!

But, this Sylvanas cosplay should be fun (see what I did there) I think if I start early, then it will be much easier, especially if I make mistakes.

But then you actually have to keep going, which is the hard bit! I started sculpting my pauldrons last week, but I ran out of clay and now it's just....sitting there. D'oh!

Would you reccommend Chicken wire mesh or whatever its called as a base of the shoulder armour?

Edit: Its so I could papr mache onto it and such and go from there.

Er, I have no idea! I'm making a sculpt to make a mold, then I'm casting it in plastic. I'm sick of dropping stuff and breaking it lol, I want this to be cosplayer-proof!

Yep, mine's the same...horns and spikes and fur. And my friggin' greaves have bits that light up! Which is hilarious given I've done sweet FA in prop work before, but hey. Ten points for trying!

That's my plan Dimey. I'm doing several pieces in chicken mesh, paper mache-ing over, then (Depending how it works) wonderflex type stuff, then sealing, then painting. Ayyyiiiiieee! Quite a few steps there.

Yeah that is pretty much my plan hah. I was also going to use clay, or even paper clay for the details and stuff. And also foam on the inside so its not uncomfortable

I thought I'd have to too, but I had a bit of fun taking off bits of my character's armour and screencapping for reference, and it's actually a little cropped tshirt thing. If you go into her chamber in Undercity can you get up close and get a good look?

Yeah I have actually lol. I went in and got screen shots of her in the game. Thing is, I'm running more off the concept art over the in-game stuff (although her weapon will be the in-game one) My chest armour will come way later though, as I am currently going to the gym and stuff so I can have a similar body shape to her (I used to have her body shape last year, then after christmas I exploded...)

I think I'm the only female on earth who can't stand Zumba lol. And *sigh*, the things we do for cosplay. Ah well, at least this cosplay is motivation for me to lose weight haha

Like everyone - you can learn! Might be a fun social way to support each other in doing it. I had a workmate who did it and she thought she sucked and still got results. It's always easier to lose weight/tone up when you have others to help and support you through it.
