I'm sure Huntress will correct me if I've missed something. Wink

The sewing machine is NOT my best friend, especially at the moment, but I have a terrible habit of collecting fabric, and so must struggle on. I love trying new techniques when I can afford them and occassionally work things out from dvd extras.

Unfortunately my landlord has put our house on the market so I need to chew through fabric at an increased rate. It's playing havoc with my cosplay 2011 plans also.

When's the next wellington fabric swap? lol

Hope you find another wonderful home that will allow you to continue to create and be the amazing person you are! Or better yet, the landlord changes their minds and takes the home your in now off the market?!?

Totally get the fabric hoarding, though, it's been too long since I went into my stashes and know that mouses have perhaps decided that they have better uses for some of them... *shudders* not looking forward to dealing with that.... I'm sure I've got other things to do.... lol....

Unlikely, as I know the situation and the family will need the money for elderly care, but it was a wonderful dream while it lasted. I have a very understanding (and somewhat insane) partner who has "garage for workroom" on his wishlist for a new property... and yes, he was the most enthusiastic of my Men in Tights.

I too have fabric tucked away, probably moldering as homes for mices. I need to pull it all out, wash it, and likely rehome it as I doubt my understanding and coopperative partner's patience would stretch if I was moving too too many boxes of scrap.

As for my cosplay list...
I owe deep thanks to the judges who let me in a little late that first chaotic time, after I'd exhausted myself sewing but mistaken the time of judging as later in the day. I was tired, distraught and daunted by a competition that I'd never participated in before. Judging ran overtime and the room was due to be invaded for anime screenings again so the judges saw the last 5 or so of us tucked away "behind the scenes" as it were. I was shaking like a leaf and all but squeaked out the song I'd learnt for the occassion. But we last few made it there, and I have continued since.

Meanwhile I'm still trying to talk my understanding partner into the Cosplay Ball... Stepping out of the shadows... 54079

Wow, that's awesome that you still hung in there Chitara for your first time, I don't think I'll be entering Competitions yet, being new and all, still figuring out where I am in this all and also just want to have fun and not allow my over anxious/underconfident mind to ruin it for me yet! LOL... though am excited to actually be able to be part of this finally in person... for years I kept saying I'll go to Armageddon, and something always came up or I just didn't go, so this year decided to stop with the b/s and make it a goal, just to get there this year, next year, we'll see! lol.....

Totally get the patient partner, mine, just shakes his head and walks away.... phew and thanks to the Universe for patient partners! Though he's put up with just over 2 years of my insanity, so I think he's near sainthood at least! LOL.... Won't be able to get to the cosplay ball this year, but know you all will have a fun and fantastic time... hope your beloved gets to go too...

I really do hope you find the perfect home for you, your loved ones and all your yummy fabric pieces so you can continue to make inspiring, creative and fantastic cosplay pieces! Have a great day!

The contest will be there next year and the year after so no rush but we will be excited to see you enter :) It's always a buzz seeing new people (this year was particularly inspiring for all the new people and the help other competitors gave new people).
