| It's a non-stretch polished cotton. I found it in a bigass pile of furnishing fabrics out in Lower Hutt, it wasn't labelled but looks for all the world like cotton sateen! Just not stretch, and slightly lighter weight :) |

Re: General Progress By Static. 03/06/10, 06:13 am |
| Sculpting for the day complete - I am out of clay and also patience! I started my DK pauldrons, which will be moulded and cast in plastic further down the line. Photoooos...
- Spoiler:
Hahaha, I haven't worked with clay since I was five and it is so hard. Ohgod. AND I USED 2KG ON THAT. I need to smooth all the lumps and bumps out of it, but I may also have mis-judged the moulding aspect...I'll have to rethink that later, but for now, I'm kinda pleased with it! Sculpting tips, anyone? |

Re: General Progress By Static. 03/06/10, 07:14 am |
| Nah - there's a form under it made of newspaper and duct tape, lol. That's not solid clay under there, I knew it woulda chewed up way more clay than I wanted! I just ran out anyway. It's about a 1cm layer over it, and then the other layers on top. |

Re: General Progress By firecat70. 03/06/10, 07:17 pm |
| I bought fabric for Kiki! It is dark blue instead of dark purple .___. I really need to stop buying impulse fabric and wait until I have reference pictures with me.
I also have money now so I can buy cosplay materials! That is super progress! |

Can Ripstop be dyed?? Rip stop refers the to the weave :) It's woven with a checkered effect to add extra strength. You need to know what the fibre content is :) If nylon- yes. If Polyester- then it'll be hard and more a case of toning over the top than dyeing. |
