Have you thought of putting eyelets in? They would be a bit stronger, and neater maybe.

Just for reference the normal way of doing rings is to wind spring steel wire around a dowel, and then cut down the side. This a not quite as easy as it sounds, so we normally import these in bulk. (By the 10,000's.) But for a strange size then maybe you can try it yourself. Then you insert the ring, and close it with a couple of plyers. You can even solder it closed. Or you can rivet flat rings, but thats just mad.

@Mandie - Eyelets are the metal circle things you find in things 8D. and you can stick things through them.

Spoiler:

//googles
Like that - the left corner has an eyelet in it. They are used on corsets and stuff too C:

When you buy the packs they come with a little tool thing, and then you use the tool and a hammer to get them in xP.

If you go to spotlight, etc., you can buy them. You buy a tool as well. It is like putting in a rivet. Put in the eyelet, then squeeze the tool.

And Mandie it is easier to show people how to rings are made than describe it that briefly. Will have to bring some chain to a meeting. Maybe could get someone to show some wares and teach people if they are interested?

Got the last of the stuff i need~ I think? Still need a shirt and pants for Basil, I just got a waistcoat that I need to shorten 8D

Put a second layer of paper mache on my Voca-headset, and now have webbing for my belt~ I'll have to head back and get a bit more though since it's quite thin so I'm just going to double it over so it's sturdier 8D

Now I get to paint triangles on it XD

That's not for all eyelets. A lot have two pieces where you have to use a little tool that comes in the pack and a hammer to fix them together. I think the tool is for eyelets where the eyelet crumples to hold onto the fabric.

I could be wrong though.....

Yeah, Rowan's talking about the ones that I was talking about 8D. You CAN buy plier-like things that do the squishing for you, but just buying the pack with the tool in them is cheaper xD. (Though some people DO have a little trouble with the tool thing, lol 8D;; ).

HOW DID YOU DO THAT!?!?! just with PVA? seriously, that easy? O.O
sorry... I have to so a similar thing >_<;
Yup PVA. I diluted some with water to coat the loose hair first (done in small bundles). Then smothered the paper cones with undiluted glue and stuck the hair to it. I used the flat end of a comb to smooth the hair down and spread it out. Did pretty much the same with the red bits once all the black was dry.

@thread: made the headband for my Rei costume.

On Sunday I finished my Horohoro wig. It took 2 weekends and 4 evenings to take off almost all the hair and sew it back sticking upwards. The back part was done with black hair stolen from another wig.

So now I am starting to make the Snowboard.
