| Hands down, Dark Cloud.
I was 6 when I played it. And that scared me... so much. xD It wouldn't have the same effect now, but still-- memories linger...
Now? Well, the memories aren't as long-lasting, but... after watching a playthrough on Youtube? The first Clock Tower game. DEAR GOD SCISSORMAN. -cries- HE'S EVERYWHERE. |

I don't quite understand why a being that represents rape, murder and torture is so loved within the gaming community. But yes, mmmm Pyramid Head. |

| I don't know how much of this was made up in my head to make it several hundred times creepier, but I have a vague recollection of this "Educational" game they installed in one of the primary schools I went to.
Anyway, I think the basic premise was that there was this kid in a room, and you had to remove any potential dangers in it to advance to the next room. Or something.
Sounds pretty simple enough, but the scary part (and here I question the reliability of my memory) is that if you didn't remove the 'potential dangers', (eg. a pair of scissors) the kid would die in a horrible manner (in the case of scissors, the little kid had his hands chopped off. Or something).
That game, be it real or not, gave me nightmares 'til I was at least 12. |

| I REMEMBER THAT ONE. And you could get the baby electrocuted in the bath - or drowned. AND. AND. I set the house on fire 'coz the heater was too close to the bed or something.
...oh my god, maybe this is where my fear of drowning and housefires comes from. ._. |

| Reading TV tropes in the Nightmare Fuel section (to try and find the name of this mysterious game, but failed) has reminded me of the beehive puzzle part in Zoombinis. Oh man, THE BEES.
Also, I have no clue what kind of keyword would get this game to pop up in Google. |

| YUSH. TOMB RAIDER. Played that on Game Boy when I was like, 8. Scared the physhics out of me. (N-not literally.) But there's this game I still remember now, I forgot what its called. But it was a game that invovled the player as a scientist. And you are like, on camping. You suddenly need to go back to your basement (had no idea where that came from) and looked for the things you need. And every time when I clicked on something that I didn't need. THe screen flashed back into a shadow near the tent, crawling to the direction I was in. For some reason, it came out from a well. And it kept getting closer, and closer. The screen flashes back to the shadow crawling in different places, then I couldn't take it anymore. /shivers at the memory of that game. Oh, and hostel (sp?) from Miniclip? xP And a few zombie shooting games, eugh. Such a scaredy cat >_>" |

| Project Zero / Fatal Frame. Freaky deaky. ^ ^; mostly it was because it was like . . " OMG ! A GHOST ! QUICK. GET THE GUN CAMERA AND SHOOOOOOT IT. NOWNOWNOW. " I remember twisting the analog all about because the ghost would swirl about and I'd start panicking.
Silent Hill 2 has got to be the scariest of the series. And I didn't even play it, I watched my sister. ;-; FREAKY STUFF. Especially those mutated ( well they're all mutated ) things with their arms crossed over and they spew acid over James. One came scuttling out from under a car once . . urgh.
When I was much younger Dark Alliance : Buldurs Gate scared me. ATTACK OF THE GREEN JELLIES. Actually it was when you had to go down into the crypt area . .and those mummy / zombies . . |
