| Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Ico and Shadow of the Colossus can have some pretty creepy moments (Ico most of all, but I STILL have nightmares of that 3rd Colossi....peeeeeeekkkiiinnngggg into the little crevice I'd hid in to get him to bend down *shudders* )
Oh, and Bioshock. I can only WATCH people play that. |

Well, you get a lightsaber if you do a certain task? (just to make it amusing, it grows SEVERAL TIMES LARGER when Ico holds Yorda's hand. XD)
Also, America didn't get this bonus item, along with many. Yay PAL!
Also, you still up for an Ico/SotC day on Monday after Welly Arma still, hon? |

| XDD Oh man, that's hilarious. (but getting the REAL swords takes too long for my cowardly gamer self lol - hence why I couldn't play it! >.<)
At this stage I think I am! I should hopefully be booking flights soon (sorting out finances after christmas, orz), so I'll be able to give you a definite answer then. n_n |

| Oh, Ico ^ ^ I have been eyeing that game up everytime I go to the video store to hire out.
Mostly it was the rating reccomendation that made me curious. Is it actually " scary " ? |

| It's not gory or anything - it's more a case of 'panicpanicpanicpanic' than 'horror' or 'terror' or anything (though having said that, I only played the first half hour before wussing out lol) |

| no, not really
it can be pretty intense sometimes when you're just hangin about and yorda is stuck in some hole of darkness someplace far away
but that aside, no, not at all. more panicky than than scary. |

| Others have already explained the kind of scary that Ico is. X3
Jess - Sounds good!
That's also an open invite to those who are in Wellington on the Monday (day after) Wellington Armageddon. An Ico and SotC play-through party at my place (like a late birthday party also with friends who can't make it the weekend before because of Christchurch Arma). :3 |

Funny enough I tend to be OK with games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
So folks, what games scare you? I LOVE FATAL FRAME! <3
I think F.E.A.R, Parasite eve 2 [they jump out of nowhere] I love Zombie games so they don't scare me. <3 |

| Ok, tiem to cover everything thats been mentioned as I always do.
Ico is a fantastic game, not scary in the slightest but is kinda a trial and error game in the sense you have to do everything perfectly and as fast as possible other wise you might as well hit the reset button, amazing game though, especially for such an early release on the ps2, unsure if there were any ps2 games (aside from SOTC) that compared graphically either.
Why do people like pyramid head? Because its always cool to like the bad guy/think the bad guy is soooo hot, Sepiroth is the other obvious example. In the majority of movies/games there is always a HUGE following of people going for the bad guy, particularly females. But thats a whole other topic.
I'm in the minority where Silent Hill 4 was my favourite Silent Hill. I found the story so brilliant that I had to keep playing, 2 came close in that regard but 1 and 3 in my opinion, while are great games, don't have fantastic stories. I'm yet to play either homecoming or origins at this point and do intend on getting shattered dreams very soon.
The Fatal Frame series I loved, great atmosphere and the lack of obvious load times made it all the better. Probably my favourite horror series.
Clock Tower is a great series as well. This is really one to scare the hell out of you. While it doesn't have effects after playing the game (in my experience) just the concept of, you have nothing to do but run for your damn life, makes the game incredibly freaky.
Now choosing a game no one probably knows, I found the Darkseed series pretty good too. For those that don't know its a adventure game series from the early 90's (which pretty much every game in that time was) using the rather generic concept of parallel worlds, but it just so happens the dark world is all Giger art work.
Thats all I can think of at the moment, im sure theres more so I will add to this later.. |

| As if they weren't scary enough already, Ocarina of Time, killing a ReDead near another ReDead will result in it eating the corpse.
Have fun trying to get to sleep tonight. |
