| Currently in the process of making Maya's gloves. I think I'll have to hand sew them because they are rather fiddly and I'm not skilled with the sewing machine enough. I found an awesome online pattern though xD. |

| @Static: How hard is it to make a Wing Harness...? This Custom Character Commission I need to quote has demon-like wings and I just want to know if they will kill me by making them?

| @SS: Um, well...mine was pretty easy, but the wings are very light - and I'll be honest, I haven't tried putting the wings on it yet!
@thread: Progress on Sakura commission is nearly complete!
- Spoiler:
Blargh, it so hasn't been ironed yet XD Harness is done now as well, but not photographed. Need breakfast first. |

Re: General Progress By Static. 13/01/10, 02:58 am |
| Fabric paint Just drew the outline, thick enough to cut through a tiny bit so it went right to the edge, and cut it out. Thepainted outline is on the wrong side, so you don't see it. Or if you do, as little as possible. You can get Fray Stoppa which would probably work too, it dries clear; but it's reeeeeally runny. |

| Awesome Work, again with the Hating, but loving lol
I have decided to make Twisted!Cinderella for Dragon*Con...I have also decided to make the "Scarecrow" Detailing a part of the costume, as it will be easier to get on and to give the effect of the Straw coming out of the seams...also, the mates I am staying with won't be able to help me if I use body paint...lol

Re: General Progress By Guest. 13/01/10, 03:30 am |
| Started My AiW!Ciel shirt~ I'm worrying that my technique for the shirt isn't okay. It's going to have a zip down the middle, and the white strip [with buttons sewn onto that] sewn to one side of the zip, and have the other snap over. Because I like avoiding having to make button holes D8. Ugh, I think I'm going to fail orz |

| Out of curiousity, Static, how did you make the wings? I'm remaking my Flonne wings, and those look a lot more light-weight than my first ones! |

Re: General Progress By Static. 13/01/10, 03:40 am |
| @Jess: two layers of fabric, sewn together to make a case, and the same shape (less seam allowance) of batting, and then just stufed inside and sew up the gap. I'm still working on putting the wire into them, and probably it would have been good to do that bit before sewing them up...I'm thinking I'll just insert the wire through a hole in the back of the wing (sealed to stop fraying) and that will be that. Haven't tried it yet though. |

I just googled "How to make gloves" and it was the fourth one down xD;; (I searched DA out of curiosity, which had nothing, and then google'd, again out of curiosity, and because I was actually sucessful and got given a pattern, I started making it xP).
... Also, wow, Static, you skill never fails to amaze me. That Sakura dress is so cool~ =w=
I have been hand sewing Maya's first glove Dx. Hand sewing because my sewing machine likes to screw up, and it's small and fiddly, so it's easier to control it this way. I'm nearly half way done! I keep pricking myself OTL. So far this cosplay has cost me blood xP. |

| I really need to put my glove making tutorial online. I've made enough of the suckers, and as they are custom drafted fit perfectly ;) Yeah, will get that sorted. Along with a few others I want to put online.
- Spoiler:
It took three hours last night to overlock the lining pieces together, overlock the pleated panels together and then pin the two layers back together again. So much pinning and repinning and unpinning and pinning again ;) |
