lol,i think u mentioned that one aaaages ago earlier on in this thread. It was an Ikes Emporium(pretty much the same stuff that was in the one in Browns Bay)

I was googling for that fabric factory in Otara when I stumbled across this nice website:

I went to the Otara factory just 2 days ago... yeah they're open, but not on Sundays. They open at around 10am I think, and close at around 4 or 5pm.

It's a forest of fabric rolls - seriously, they have a lot of lining, lycra, knits, stretch, polar fleece at $6/m, etc... OH AND BIAS/PIPING/ELASTIC/CORD GALORE

Though some of the stuff if factory run off so you might find some of the ribbony things are not as smooth as they should be.

I bought some anime goods from him and they are obvious fakes. You just have to look at the amount he has and the pictures/descriptions/prices to know MOST of his items are fakes. He was selling the rare Death Note nendroids at half the price of anywhere else. I bought one and the paint quality was terrible, the heads don't fit on properly, the box was low quality and obviously copied etc. Just be very careful. Just because your sword isn't 'fail' does not mean it is official, in fact it is highly likely it is not an official item since most of these swords aren't.

It's just like Vagabond, they used to sell fake items (don't know whether they still do) and I still buy from there with everyone else. You just have to be careful and be smart about what you are buying.

the store mentioned above - designer textiles in lovegrove crescent in otara. freaking AMAZING! selection of fabrics, zips, buttons, laces, .. actually EVERYTHING! it's huge and compared to places like dirtyripoff arthur toye it's dirt cheap!!

i drive up from tga every few months to stock up. favourite fabric store EVER handsdown!

Hey guys, sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I'm doing some recon for a friend.
She wants to know where she can find leather in decent quantities. I don't think it matters if it's fake or not.

I've recently found a super cheap fabric store called Nick's fabrics. They're located on 335 Dominion Road, Mt Eden, and also at 25 Barrys Point Rd in Takapuna.

Their website lists that ALL dress fabrics are $4 per meter, and they also have a $2 discounted section.

I personally haven't had time to actually check out the stores myself, but please add this one to the first post. Very Happy

Leather is usually quite expensive in the stores, but you can find heaps of them on Trademe. Just be careful, some of the fake leather might not be as thick or very good in quality.

-some stores no-one's mentioned on here yet, just for reference-

There's a Bernina shop in Takapuna which sells sewing machines + parts for them (like specialty needles and feet), as well as lots of different laces and buttons and other little bits and bobs.

There's also an emporium of some description in Devonport, which sells fabrics + craft supplies.

Aaand my last addition, there's Centrepoint fabrics in Newmarket. =D

I don't have the exact addresses for any of these places, but still~

(EDIT: also, I don't know why I didn't add any of these places to the thread years ago either. :B But whatever.)
