Charlie B's accomodation?

So, I was looking to go to Chchgeddon 'cause of AirNZ's grabaseat, and I'll obviously need accommodation. Unless someone offers me to stay at their place, I'll have to stay at somewhere like Charlie B's.

For those of you who has stayed at Charlie B's before, is it good? What room booking should I make? Private or shared? (Private is more expensive).
Should we book as a group?
Is there buses from the airport to get me to Charlie B's?

hmmmmm i do not like the fact that it's so close to latimer square xP
no direct from airport to the hotel unless you taxi
or you get a $7 shuttle into town center and
walk 10mins. i have no other details otherwise sorry ^^;;

us dunediners stay there each year and each year it's been amazing. (: cheap, good facilities, REALLY close to the whole city (and therefore sustinance) and only a short walk to the con.

I stayed there this year, was pretty good. Shared is usually shared bathroom facilities. otherwise you pay extra for your own ensuite bathroom. Or cheapest is in the dorms, but i tend to like some privacy for myself.

There'll probably be some group people booking rooms a bit closer to the time aswell. Razz

Latimer Square = SO DODGY. :[ It's on the better side of Latimer Square, that side has more light so less drug dealing transexual homeless gangsters hang around that side.

I would just get the airport bus into town and jump off at the bus depot then hoof it, personally, it really isn't far.

I've stay there pretty much everytime I go up and don't stay with family.
It's quite good.

I can also vouch for it being a good place to stay, as it has been said earlier, all the Dunedin folk who roadtrip together to Chchgeddon will be staying there.

I liked it - we had a private room/shared bath, and it was fine. Pricing was good, it was a little far away for my liking (first time in Chch and I had to find my way by myself on the first day) but isn't *that* far Razz
