Madhatter suggested us having badges with the Cloud-Akatsuki Symbol on them didn't she ? And people of the club can wear the badge in public, school , church, home ETC and show-off and get people interested in join..
Or maybe not a Akatsuki Symbol just a Badge that symbolises ' us'...maybe a picture of Ice-Cream or something..

Maybe we could all pose for a 2010 calendar and all pose single double or in groups and have pictures of us dressed up in our cosplay costumes or just photos of the memories of 2009..
And put Club Members Birthdays on the Calender and the planned events for 2010 on the the Calender
-' AKA June 10th Cosplay J-Pop Singing Competition'

hm... honestly, i'm not very fond of the idea of having the 'red akastuki Clouds' because it's a bit.... like as if we're copying the animation of the akatsuki online, i think you guys know which one I'm talking about. But that's just what i think, lol majority wins, i know.
ok so I'll just get the scan of the Cathedral-tan from Will as a concept for our mascot, and i'll add in an ice cream on her hand

Though Nazgul raises a good point with the Akatsuki Symbol badges, also I wanna try and get something thats not so specific, cause not everyone likes naruto. Also something that everyone will recognize... like pikachu but again thats specific. If we did ice cream - mostly everyone loves, but how does cosplay fit into it?

Actually it probably would be good if we used the mascot? Keep things consistent but it depends on what the mascot is.

Yeah know a few people who hate Naruto with a highly personal grudge sad

Umm- Don't know have no idea but Ice-Cream relates to our club and symbolises who we are, though it would be a bit random if somebody asks ' Why do you have badges with Ice-Cream on your shirts ?" and then we say ' Because we are anime/ manga Japanese cartoon dress-up cosplaying club...'

It would be a bit random and wouldn't make sense to the public, or people whom are not fans of the club...
But something like Pickachu...even though it's specific would make a bit more sense ( Just for a example...)

Hmm maybe offer the badges in different sizes ? ( Are we going to be paying for them ??)

well we've got a long time to think I guess, its not on the urgent part of the To-Do list anyway.
Yeah, if we are going to have badges or cards, everyone will have to donate money towards having them made. As long as its not too much.
Unless we make our own, cards easy enough but badges? Anyone know where or how to make badges?

lol when i first heard about the badges idea the first thing that popped into my mind was :"Good luck to the person in charge getting them!"
But i've seen a lil nifty thing by Bandai that makes badges on youtube ^^ it's quite cool, the badges are the small circular type (..is that what you guys call button badges?) but you'd have to buy equipments and stuff for it.
But that's just for personal use lol i guess if you want to mass produce, do you think this site will help? :

I don't really get how that pricelist works though...

I really like the idea of cards though, since it's easy to produce and stuff.

Had a random idea not long ago that the cosplayers could wear jackets ..

That male cosplayers could wear a blue or black jacket with - Cosplayer JCC with a fancy angel-gothic like pattern on it while the girls could wear a light baby pink or was thinking a butter-light yellow (?) jacket with a more Feminine angel pattern..

so when we are in class or walking around town we could show off our awesome jackets to all the non-cosplayers..

About badges, theres a guy who has a stall at auckland and wellington armageddons, we can get him to make a bunch of badges, its like $1.50 each and they look really awesome.

We just need to give him a design.

By cosplay you seem to only be including anime references. We are a group that gather because we make / wear costumes from popular culture, not just anime/manga.

Something including the tools of our trade, maybe that has sewing needles, glue guns, paint brushes, sewing machines, duct tape, measuring tape, spray paint, wigs, textas. fabric.
I know not everyone makes their own costume, but that is what cosplay is.

I think would be more in keeping with cosplay then something that is just one area of influence.

I not being harsh I just want everyone to be included not just the fans of anime. Of which I am one so I am not knocking it.

But, yeah guys, as she said- we shouldn't concentrate on just anime and manga... Remember things like video games and normal TV? They exist too. And I don't want to feel out of the loop someday when I finally get around to cosplaying something from Invader Zim.

We have to keep open, so as not to ostracize anyone, right? ^^
