How far ahead do you plan? By Tails. 23/09/09, 03:39 pm |
| I've been noticing a lot of groups forming for Armageddons the following year when the one this year hasn't even happened yet! So how far in advance have you planned a cosplay & actually done it? |

| I make loose plans up to a year ahead, but never finalise until about 6 months before the con - at which stage I generally stick to what I've chosen (unless circumstances/procrastination mean I'm unable to complete it on time and have to change my plans. *sulks over Rosso*)
I generally find it a bit silly planning stuff two years in advance though - how do you know you're even gunna still like the series in a year's time, let alone two? o_O |

| I was trying to get all my stuff confirmed early for next year since most of my costumes next year need to be made and will take a while, especially around my subjects |

| Hmm... I have a lot of costumes on my 'to do' list, and I try to pick one or two for each convention - but in reality, my costumes have all been done in the month before - and they're almost never the ones I had originally planned anyway!
I really wish I would get more organised and not rush everything last minute.... perhaps I should start planning for Wellington next year now? |

Re: How far ahead do you plan? By Mandie_Chan. 24/09/09, 04:24 am |
| um... I plan as far as I can think of cosplays.
If I can't think of any I'd LOVE to do then I don't think that far ahead. I think i have Chch 2010 booked up... but I wasn't thinking at the time 'MUST HAVE COSPLAYS READY' it was more 'I'd love to do this outfit for a competition/for fun. I have space here, lets do it!'
I usually don't join groups... just because people tend to pull out last minute. |

| I have a large list of cosplays I want to do, it's just a matter of finding people to do them with and when something like that comes up, I generally plan for it.
That said, I've got like almost all of next year's cosplays planned out |

| I make a point of never planning too far ahead. Because I know I'll just change my mind/find something more interesting in the meanwhile.
I think 4 months ahead is my normal THIS IS WHAT I'M DOING stage. |

| I'll plan doing a character a year ahead but if they have more than one costume, chances are I've found a reason (generally procrastination from a large assingment) to make 2-3 of them way before the event which leaves me not knowing what version to wear |
