Re: So Disney has bought Marvel comics

| Marvel comics evolved as such~
1939 ~Under "Timely Comics" ~Run by Martin GoodMan ~Super Heros 1940's ~Simon, Lee and Kirby join on. ~Hero's vs. War ~Funny Animals ~Comedies ~Crimes ~Westerns ~Romance 1950's ~Pretty much everything under the sun ~Comics Code changes the game up [u]1960's[u] ~Heros again 8D And thats how they stayed.
BUT,my point being, Before Disney was even doing his thing widespread-ly, Marvel was publishing funny animals.
I forget why this is important though 8D |

| Actually, Peter Porker has been making A comback in the last decade 8D
/Needs to stope Poring over "The Marvel Chronicle" Everynight.
~~~
Steamboat Willy, Disneys first major "Funny Animal" cartoon, came out in 1928, Krazy Komic #1, the first of Marvels "Funny Animals" comics, came out in 1942.
The point was that Animated Funny Animals got a whole lot more popular when the comics popped in.
~~~
In 1980, Casablanca Record and various Movie making firms approached Marvel to create "Dazzler" A hero who would span across film, comics and records. Though little, if anything, was further more heard of the records or comics...
~~~
Hasbro's connection with Marvel Comics was by comissioning GI Joe, and Mr. Potatoe Head comics (1982) Hasbro gain so greatly from the deal, that a secon series of GI Joe was set up and printed. This was a major cause of GI Joes sustained popularity.
~~~
I did have something concerning when DC and Marvel got together, mostly for Amalgam...
~~~
My point is that when vastly unrelated companies get together with Marvel Its not always a fail. |
| Disney is very good when it comes to respecting the creative freedom of their properties. Look at Pixar. Disney gives them money to do pretty much whatever they want because Disney knows they're going to get a good return on their investment. It will be the same situation with Marvel. Warner Brothers owns DC, yet you don't see Looney Tunes characters running around in a Batman comic, do you? |
| No... Perhaps it's just the idea of the Disney name being superimposed in invisible ink over the Marvel brand. I think it's more of a psycological thing, Marvel being part of the Disney super-giant... At least, it is for me. I know things won't really change, but STILL! |
