PS3 stops shipping

There can be little doubt that Sony is clearing its supply chain in anticipation of a new lineup, which will presumably incorporate the rumoured and nearly orderable PS3 Slim, and presumably an updated base unit (as it seems unlikely the Slim would support much in the way of a price cut).

I knew about this quite a while ago when the PS3 suddenly became discontinued on the system at work. I didn't actually know why though. But we'll see what Sony unveils in GamesCon 2009 on August 18. Most comments I've been reading elsewhere dispell it as rumor.
