My disk is broken. Or scratched, or something. Well not mine, Boyfriends.
So I borrowed an ISO off Panini and it gave my Vista Blue Screen of Death - Vista is NOT SUPPOSSED to get Blue Screen of Death.

sad I only got as far as the Ball and it keeps screwing up on that video. And since you cant skip videos on those early FF's I am doomed to be unable to play.

I've got the PC version, but on a few of the FMVs I have to use the low quality ones. >____< Otherwise it dies.

But it works FINE other than that! I'm up to killing Ultimecia, but I can't be bothered.... so I haven't played for a month or so.

Squall Leonhart rules !!, he is the best !!

- Lovely game , possibly one of the best Final Fantasy games
- Great storyline, realistic characters, and really epic on the music !

Balamb Garden should be a real school, how epic would that be ?
With SeeDs going around the world, helping people..
(chances are they would problery get suck in Iraq at the moment anyways )

Lol. I would totally go to Balamb Garden if it were real. What weapon though?
I'd totally want Quezacotl as my GF. He's my favorite, with Ifrit in a close second. I'd probably just use a unarmed combat fighting style.

*nodnod* I know it's worth it, I've done it before. XDD But because I know what's there at the end, I can't be bothered fighting just to get there again.

I'd LOVE to go to a real Balamb Garden! That'd fricken RULE! I expect I'd use a sword of some sort.... gunblade, if I could get the hang of it. I've always liked sword fighting.

I don't like challenging battles that much. >_< I play for the story and character exchanges more than anything.

I want one of the GFs that they DON'T show. There must be HEAPS of them.

In the Orphange flashback , when they remember that they were all childhood friends ( minus Rinoa..) Selphie mentions a GF she saw in the Trainning Center, however there is no GF that you can grab there..

So your right, there must be heaps of lost Guardian forces out there, that Squall and the rest, fail to grab while on their journey..

Like challaging battles if there is a chance in winning, those silly super-hard boss battles, like Omega, and that floating Ball thing from IX, not a chance

When you start the game, and you check your panel of your computer before you do anything else, like talk to Quistis a bout the fire cavern. When you select tutorial, it searches the school database to find out what GFs are registered to you.

This tells me that all the students have GFs that are registered to them, including Zell, Selphie and Quistis (and possibly even Irvine) but their ones would be registered as the ones you give them.

It's not that they fail to grab them, it's just that they DON'T grab them. It's probably unusual for a person to junction as many GFs as you can in VIII.

Also, I expect the registered GFs were for the exam only. I'm guessing this because Zell, Selphie and Quistis don't have their own GFs that they bring to the party.
Either that or it was an oversight, but that's a much less interesting way to think about it.

And also because many people disliked using GFs because of that whole memory loss thing, Headmaster Cid ingores the fact of course ..

So guess many characters wouldn't want to use a Guardian Force in battle

He ignores it because he knows they can't defeat the sorceress without them. Razz

But it's not a known fact to most people that you lose your memory from usage of GFs. Heck, the party hadn't even heard of such a thing until they figured it out themselves.

~Revives thread~ In my mind FFVIII is the best final fantasy because It has this story that you wouldn't expect to see from final fantasy If you look back at the other games. Also The song "Eyes on me" Is so good gets me teary sometimes. I think that they should've given the characters more personality in my mind Rinoa had sugar honey iced tea -all personality. And the reason why you can't get all the GFS out there is for one of two reasons;

1) The creators were too lazy to come up with more Gfs
2) The whole memory-loss thing.

Kinda liked it how FF8 had two love storylines that tied together with Laguna and Julia and Squall and Rinoa. And how Laguna and Julia were torn apart by fate. But in a way they came back together again, by having their children fall in love.
It was a really sweet game and it had a few action and comedy it make it have a larger fanbase audience.Alot of people dislike Rinoa and used to be in that same boat, until realized and knew what it was like to be in fear and be really scared
kinda understand Rinoa now and don't dislike her so much anymores..

Favorite GF was Bahamut. Love Dragons so much ! But Carbuncle was just very kawaii~~

Being able to warp time and space makes Eden pretty haematight.

But yeah, Rinoa is a terrible character. She's boring, just sort of falls in love
with Squall for no reason, and she shoots her dog from her arm. );
though you go by the R=U theory (even if it's been proven untrue) she
becomes a lot cooler - she still lacks character, but at least she has an
interesting future.

But isn't that what 'falling is love' is supposed to be all about? Illogicality and liking someone for none too many outstanding reasons? ....Or something. Yeah, ignore me. I don't know what the hell I'm talking about now xD

I personally like Rinoa myself, I found her quite sweet and 'honest', heheh >w>
What's that about shooting her dog? Not Angelo! D: (Almost typed Angeal there. FAIL.)

Really? I've never heard that theory before! Wow o__o

WIN. xD

I won't argue about which FF I think is the 'best' or not because I love them all each for their own reasonings Very Happy It was a big milestone though, in terms of Square pushing the capabilities on the PS (as they do).

Musicwise, the OST 'twas very very cool. The Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec collection is beautifully done (except for the track for which the CD is named after... it's the bit in the middle that gets me >.>). Piano Collections... to be honest it took me a while to get used to the Piano Collections for VIII! I found the arrangements to be much more traditionally classical sounding than any of the other Piano Collections that had been released and it took a little while before I really started to enjoy it as I do now.
Also, they were played sort of 'blandly', lacking much feeling. And that's what a lot of classical music is about, playing the piece with 'feeling' (or any music for that matter).

It's very fun to play though, the ones that I have learnt. 'Blue Fields' is a kicker, I always play it :B (I also sometimes play it as a jazzy sort of gallop, super-fun). 'Eyes on Me'... ahh, I love that song -wipes away tear- so many memories of growing up with Cantopop. More fun to play on the guitar TBH. 'Ami' is super fun and so is 'Shuffle and Boogie'. Just learnt 'Silence and Motion' which is one of my absolute favourites on the Piano Collections. 'The Oath' is nice too.

/music review (music is my life lol)

(Dad reading over my shoulder says "You know it's not 'Final' when they give it numbers. They should be called 'Sort-of-Final'!" My Dad = orz + XD + chuu~! DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THIS TOPIC THOUGH. SRSLY.)

And now with that mostly-FFVIII-Piano-Collections review over (faaaaaaiiil), I direct you to [Actorman's FFVIII Mock Dub]! (The only thing it actually mocks are the number of bad fandubs floating around on the 'Tube, haha). Don't believe what he says at the top of the page, he did all the voices by himself. Razz

I love the VAA XD

Oh, sure - but it just doesn't seem very natural at all. He's basically an ass for a while and she seems to get pissed off with him and then suddenly she's like 'oh hey yeah actually you're pretty flipin ace'. idk, it didn't click for me at all. Maybe I just don't like her because when Squall fell in love with her he started to act really dopey.

Yeah, when she uses her limit break, Angelo Cannon - she shoots Angelo at an enemy, right? Unless I'm, you know, making sugar honey iced tea up ): (Angeal is awesome. He should totally star in his own game).

Eyes on Me is pretty fun to play - it would sound a lot nicer if someone sang along with it though.

Squall fell for Rinoa during the ball dance but when Rinoa left he was crushed. One Thing about Squall is that he dislikes loosing people and he kinda thinks that whoever gets close to him disappears. That why he got pissed off at Quistis after the ball was over. Rinoa didn't know what pain she caused to him after waltzing out after meeting and greeting him after the ball was over. Not to mention Rinoa tries to get Squall out of his shell while he refuses to budge
that's why they cause conflict together. But when Rinoa is knocked out by gaining Edea's powers Squall wakes up and notices all the feelings he had for Rinoa and he noticed that he was taking Rinoa for granted and if he kept on acting like a jackass and kept on pushing others away, he could loose Rinoa..

Heaps of fans think that the love storyline of FF8 is "Hi- I hate you- Ohh Noo I love you- I want to protect you- don't diiee.." But don't think that the relationship is like that at all. Sure SE rushed some things and they could of explained things much much better/ clearer but is the Squall and Rinoa relationship really that sudden ??

@juxtapoz Oh THAT part. Okay I get that bit xD Ahaha! 'Pretty flippin' ace'. WIN.

Well, at least Squall gets character development (I think) over the course of the game to being the Squall with the gorgeous smile we see at the end of the game. Unlike a certain Neku Sakuraba. XD;

I haven't seen the limit break! (Not-so-shocking revelation - I haven't played the game. Actually... I haven't played a lot of games. I research HARDCORE. sweatdrop)
Sort of reminds me of Shadow. Only... Interceptor just runs in barking like "YO FOO' GET YO FILTHY HANDS OFF MY MASTER DX" and kills them dead >D -cough- FFVI is cool >w>

(Physics yeah. Angeal is awesome 8D And so is Kazuhiko Inoue. That man's voice.... gaaaah -flail- chuu~!)

Amen to that one @A@ I suck at playing and singing at the same time because doing both hinders my chord changing speed... and I can't play piano and sing properly at the same time. Faaaaiiil! What do you play?

@Cloud Strife Amen to that, sweet powers! Also, I think you just successfully described an Asian drama. FFVIII the abridged series? xDD
