Avatar is a serious addiction.
Right, i have news. I've been...fiddling with the cosplayers >.>
As we had our Zuko and CM and Foamy drop out i've had to go and recruit new people. The guy who was doing Aang is now doing Zuko (he'll look better this way) and i've got a mate of mine doing Aang. I MAY even have another mate do CM, but that will only be Saturday.
*takes deep breath of air*
Everyone okay with that?
On a side note, i'm in a MAJOR panic. 17 days! I'm no where NEAR done! Mad sewing times ahead!

I don't think we have to pay for the anime voice actor photos. We haven't had to in the past. Just stand in line and bring a camera and when they autograph something you go 'oh, do you mind...' and then hastily kidnap them and stuff them in your bag

And i found wigs at an AMAZING store called Look Sharp. It's where i'm getting my Katara wig from TOMORROW. Then i need to take it to my hairdresser, get on my knees and tell her how wonderful she is and see if she'll do it for me.
I may have to bring out the major weapon. Cupcakes.

Hey Serenity, would ya mind putting up a pic of Zuko cosplayer? 8D I hope he'll look better as Zuko then that guy from Slumdog millionaire whos playing him in the live action.. Imo, the cast [well lead characters] dont look so great :/ super dissappointed. Anyway!..

It sounds algud though, Renee/spazattack is unsure about cabbage costume, she's scared that someone'll accidentally bump into her and she'll roll down a hill or summin hahha. Time and munny gets us all, but i've convinced Renee just to get a floral-ish green dress, and she'll make a cabbage hat just so people get a hint she's cosplaying and doesnt have bad taste in hats.. Sweet!

Well i've finished my coat and skirt for Suki : D Wearing it right now xD Just gotta add buttons later todaay [been putting it off. tbh im having issues.. needles too big xD] and will put stiffener into skirt pleats maybz. Btw anyone know what to do if the sleeves are a bit tight? I might do some alterations but it takes aaaaages to cut the thread with that mini pronged thing so might skip it. I mean i dont reeeeeeally need my arms above my head do i? Eh.. Guess i'll just do lowfives instead..
Buying EVA stuff to make armour on Saturday, havent make templates for them yet so i'll do that later today.. Buying makeup tomorrow [thick white goth vampire viel stuff mwahaha! aha..] from a nz site, pretty cheap but good reputation so.. 8D

I have a wig. Its perfect buuuttt, its black :/ Im debating whether i should buy a new wig [30$nz off ebay or 70$ from trademe [gtfo..]] or go along with the one i got now. I've got pretty high expectations of myself and my aim in every cosplay is to look like the actual character so i might get a new wig xD Still.. I need that munny for spending xD

Btw question for all - how much munny have you used so far on your Avatar costumes? And how much do you think it'll cost overall in the end?

And if youre doing multiple costumes, how much munny have you spent in total [estimate?]? D:

My June costume so far has come to... About $40 so far, and I still need to buy tights, make belts and arm warmers and get a whip. I'm estimating about $70-$80 all up. And I couldn't even get the right colour fabric, waagh. Lucky my hair is dark brown (hers is black, I know >.<) and I have a bunch of make up otherwise it'd be well past $100.

The guy doing Aang is still in a toss up about whether he does fire nation outfit or the traditional one. But i think he's leaning more to the traditional in which, yes, he will shave his head. And i will get to draw arrows on him =D

I got a light brown wig today. Should be long enough, i hope. Will go to my hairdresser tomorrow and see what she can do. I keep putting off sewing. Know i'm doing some on Saturday and i am going to try reallly hard to finish the necklace tonight (which i should've done a bajillion years ago) and then i shall post that pic. I have everything i need (except white fabric and fluff and shoes, but i'll get those next week). I think i've spent around...$50-60 so far. So long as it turns out AWESOME i dont mind =)

Whee~ Will add both of you to my phone now. I'll send experimental texts probably next weekend. And, at some point, we need to discuss when and where we shall meet on what days we can go. I know Idot is getting there super duper early on the Saturday so she can get Doctor Who stuff (and i might be joining her >.> Must fuel the addiction!). But we can always meet up afterwards ^_^

I've never done one of those flash photos before! =O We shall look into it indeed!

oof finally went out and bought EVA and more shizz from spotlight. i skipped school today so i could cut out armour and bend it and such C: [thanks so so so much again saboteur for telling me about EVA and paramarubberma i am in your debt <33] i got craft glue from spotlight today it said 'dries fast and holds strong' or something, BUT THEY LIED it sucks >_< not even sticky. D; my armour keeps getting put off. oof.
got material for other costumes which is good Very Happy

all i need now is knee high stockings [why are they so expensive t-t $30? rippppp] and makeup Very Happy

Almost finished my dress, just have to hand sew on some satin trim stuff (which is in the colour the dress was supposed to be which I couldn't originally find..) And make the belts (thick elastic and buckle ftw, haha). Oh, and find some suitable boots. All my boots are either pointy toed or platform. /fail

Knee high stockings $30?! Holy sugar honey iced tea.

Oh! And I need to find a whip! DAMN totally forgot about that.

The whip! If you havent got one yet.. i'd say check out Bras N Things or go to some S&M shop *shifty eyes*... XDD
But they prolly only sell smallish whips.. They might sell bigger ones online? Very Happy

It was pretty funny cz i had to buy Manic Panic foundation from this goth site, and my dad was like 'O__O so you're into THIS stuff eh?' Aha.
I've started the armour, im using Ados contact adhesive gluey stuffz and its awesome Very Happy

Ima ditch school again so i can finish it off xD
Then i'll do ze fans.
And then the headband. Uhh little dangley thingies on the side? Crap..

HAHA yeaaah, Bras N Things is a good idea! I don't even think there are any adult shops in West Auckland? Unless they're down some shifty alley, I haven't seen any D: I found a tutorial online to make a whip out of duct tape, so if all the whips are too expensive or I can't find any, I can just do that, whoo.

Also; I don't think they'd get here on time if I ordered them online now -.- And they're all expensive like! Hey at least it was a goth website and not Peaches and Cream or something, like mine would be for the whip(this is a family computer, luuuuls).

Contact adhesive is winrar. Also; yay for ditching school for cosplaay!

Am currently sewing skirt. Gonna buy the furtrim for it at some point. Either tomorrow or the next day. Probs thursday. Tonight is skirt. Tomorrow is pants. Thursday is trims and Friday is top XD As my friend can free-sew and that's the ONLY time she's free. I so rock at last minute things B)

Saboteur; Avatar is TOTALLY a worthy cause. Well. I look strange in my wig XD Always been a blonde. I look a tad scary as a brown head. Lol. Oh well. Should work. OH! Need to buy hairnetthing. Right. I buy that and shoes tomorrow. Also going to try and find a bag like Katara's water thingamajig. If not, well, then it's my regular denim bag with Doctor Who badges on it >.>

Serenity Saiyan, haha, that's awesome! I'm a total noob (as in, I only learned to sew making this dress O_O) and could never leave all that to the last minute, I would dieee.

Idot, I only learned that you could wind the bobbin using the machine yesterday. Yes, really. /headdesk

I'm thinking about using my leftover material to make a simple as eff tote bag and then paint the four nations (or elements, maybe) symbols on it. AND THEN GET DANTE TO SIGN THE FIRE ONE. Very Happy

If I have time, that is... Still have to finish off some stuff for my other costume.

OH CRAP BAGS AND HAIR NET THINGS.
Im just gonna use a random bag i have no time or munny xD
Hopefully i can buy hair nets tonight and get them in by Friday :/ Pretty slim chance though.. Same goes for white foundation, ordered some from this place in Chchch, lady was like 'oh we'll send it out later..' im like 'dsjtb234y6BUTMONDAYt-t'.
Im doing the armour right now, i was gonna wag school all week but i had no glue so i went to school today to get some off my form teacher [she does art] xD
I should also sew on the buttons for my coat and make the pleats of the skirt more pronounced..

Please God, let there be burning heat tomorrow and on Friday, with no wind, for my armour needs a million layers of paint and glue etc and i would like to put them outside to dry and i do not want any bits of grass and dirt on them kthnx Very Happy

Yknow what i wanna do? I would love to get a whole group of us to dress up as Aang. But like a group where we're all diff ages, diff sizes, nationalities, etc. Like on the episode and theyre going on the boat i forgot about it now and Aang's like 'Im the Avatar!' Random ticket seller points to group of all these other 'Avatars'. so funny xD
