| Shakespeare is fun, although confusing sometime, haha. I waxed poetic on Shakespeare with my 'Li-Bai Badguy' devART photo with a verse from Antony and Cleopatra. See, everyone knows the first line but not many people know the full lines or where it comes from >w>
"Friends, romans, countrymen, lend me you ears! I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him. The evil that men do lives after them; the good are oft interred with their bones.
So let it be with Caesar; Noble Brutus has told you that Caesar was ambitious; If so, it was a grievous fault and grievously did Caesar answer it."
Of course, Macbeth is great fun too. Esp. on Shakespeare Day last year when Caddyl actually stabbed me with her sword accidentally in the middle of our re-enactment of the last battle. It was the killing blow too, how fitting xD |

Shakespeare's work is like- written art, how dumb do they think people are getting ? * throws a rubbish bin at NCEA * I loathe NCEA also. Shakespeare has been studied in ever school for the past gajillion years for a reason; it is well written. It's common ground for many literature-type things, is the basis for I-don't-know-how many books/movies in this day and age, and it happens to be beautifully written. I like Shakspeare (yay). |

| heh. Old Shakes' was my life back when I was like, 13, but now I've settled into a more healthy appreciation of the Bard. No more getting up on tables in front of huge crowds and declaring that I AM WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE. Clearly, I am not.
Titus Andronicus is sorely underappreciated. NCEA cannot handle gore... |

What else did that particular English class manage to put me off... Let me see, I stopped writing too.

On the Shakespeare being taken out of schools point-- I heard about that. I think it's ridiculous xD; It's not horrendously hard.

I detest Macbeth because I've studied, dissected and over-analyzed it so much that I'm just sick of it. I still remember all my lines too but I find it heaps of fun 8D Thankfully, our class sort of fluffed over analysing Macbeth too much (or maybe I wasn't listening...?) so I still enjoy it. That one scene, that is.
(SRSLY, getting properly -albeit accidentally- stabbed in the chest in front of a class in the middle of my assessment is one of my best memories of Form 6 xD) |
