Hi guys,

I have some contacts in the council's Major events department, and the person in charge of the Teddy Bears Picnic this year has expressed interest in having some of us coming along dressed up in some way. The theme is yet to be decided on (last year was pirate themed) and the only request thus far is that costumes are not too scary or of characters that are too scantily clad (the event is aimed at 0-8 year olds)


  • Date: Sunday 15 February
  • Time: 11am 10:30ish– 3pm
  • Location: Mona Vale Homestead, 63 Fendalton Road
  • If wet: Event will be cancelled
But yeah. Just in case anyone is interested. If it's OK to have this here, I will be posting updates as I get them.

Update!!
We now have a theme! It will be Hansel and Gretel and/orPeter Pan themed.All Cosplay characters
must be PG if they are at all risqué they will be sent home :) Not by me, by the security people.

Basically, we are wanted to just roam about the crowds and add a little bit more interaction with the crowd.

Saweet! Well, once I can get more info about it, I will definitely post. I shall probably need to pester people at mum's work though >.> One thing I do know though is that it won't be pirates again

XD Dinosaurs would be awesome! But it depends on what the Carnie Folk are doing. And while some kids may love the dinosaur aspect, others would probably be terrified.

What kind of stuff would we do?
Would we just be there, and sit in a group together, being terrified of little kids in cosplay, or would we be helping them out?

I might, if I get enough done by then, wear my outfit of Rose Tyler in the 50's.

Just wanting to bump this thread up as a reminder that the picnic is not too far away... Day after valetines day, in fact! I hope that doesn't effect how many people can come.. I know that there is a gathering on that day.

Also, bring some food and stuff that's possibly picnicable. We may want to eat at some point.

Uhm.. There is going to be a pirate invasion at about 1:30 on the day...
