Oh I can bring Lizzie out again. The red velvet montrosity is perfect for winter... except for the plunging, chest infection inducing neckline... Hmmm. More thought required.

Not that mass quantities of velvet and a crowded convention space don't work well temperature-wise. Maybe the spartans had the right idea with the undie run, after all.

I've never found 'Geddon unbearably hot. Crowded yeah, but then I tend to wear things with only 1 or 2 layers to 'Geddon. I couldn't imagine how hot a full C16th get-up must have been for you!

EDIT: I keep finding leftover Ball food!! I've nearly finished the veges and dip (omnomnomnoms) and then I was cleaning out a box and found a huge jar of lemon curd. I LOVE lemon curd! That's not going to last long... And there's a still sealed bottle of spewmante that's going in the cupboard until I have a really bad day or the owner (Randy?) shows up to collect it.

Okay guys, here's my take on this - We do the Cosplay Ball one year, and the Official Cosplay Picnic the next, Ball one year, Picnic the next - both in the same year would be just too much to handle. I'm not sure many of you actually realise this, but it did take 6 months to organise the Ball, and around the same time for the Picnic. Yeah, it's a buttload of fun and I'd love to do it again but it is a lot of work. It's all fine and dandy with people saying 'oh it's fine I'll help out it'll be okay', but - shocking as it is - we all do have some semblance of a social life or a school life that may make it difficult to walk the talk, ya know?

I'm not trying to be a pessimist, I'm just trying to have a look at what could really happen, yah?

We can alternate these official events every year, Ball, Picnic, Ball, Picnic. Now, UNOFFICIAL gatherings and Picnics are a different kind of cake, and you can have those whenever you want (and don't forget photoshoot sessions, that midwinter photoshoot session was excellent) - just don't have too much of that cake otherwise you'll be sick, yah?

Now, in other matters - I must type up a Thank You post on the LJComm thanking people for making this occasion possible, if someone hasn't done that already. I already have drafted up a list. :)

-Edit- Aaaand we didn't have a massive group photo. Damn.

I agree, espcially since certain members of the wellington cosplay group are impossible to contact, and like i stated waaaay earlier, having that many cosplays to make in one year would rive me nutz Mad

& not being cheesy, but my favourite bit of the ball was dancing to 'Waltz to the Moon' with Panini, yay for acting out bits in games! Razz

& of course meeting all of you guys properly! XDD

It was cheat c16th. The fabric was thinner and lighter so that I didn't melt into a puddle of pie and stage makeup. Although that is the exact reason I didn't try for the marketplace full get up with jacket and hat and heatstroke.

Randy knows that you have it, so if it vanishes she'll probably eat you.

8D I was reading comments from other Yoite cosplayers they said they either died in summer, or didn't notice the cold in winter xDDD.

I'm constantly looking for hats that resemble Yoite's when I go shopping xD Or Subaru's awesome bowler hat thing he has in the first volume xD

Cant wait for the next one. if i know anything about cosplayers it will get bigger and better every year!!
a bonus was seeing somepeople that i havent seen since auckland and wouldnt see till Wellygeddon.
and getting peoples numbers that i already should have..
time warp and Butt pushing contest with Pegasus was awesome
