[WCB09] The Ball was Awesome, what did you enjoy?

So a mid winter ball this year so we only have to wait 6 months till the next one??

I still think a casual gathering in a hall would be pretty good.

So maybe like a combination of the ball and the picnic.

Casual cosplay, music, BYO food, etc. That kind of stuff.

The venue that it was held at was pretty decent, but we can have a look around
I was originally thinking we should wait till next year winter to do it IF we don't get enough people to help organise, cuz we will still have the cosplay picnic to look foward to in jan
but 6 months should be enough time
....should we ask more people what they think of a cosplay ball so soon after the one thats just finished?

I don't really want another ball so soon. I think something casual will be best.
(Because it gives a larger variety of things to cosplay - casual pretty much includes formal anyway xDDD).

If you need more people to help organise, I don't mind helping.

Also, if it's casual then it won't need as much organising. If it's a BYO food thing (and share the food around) then that alone eliminates the organising of food.

I agree, something casual will be much easier to put together and that way people don't go "2 balls in one year ..O.o"
And that way people can come in their wellygeddon cosplays.
So we can do the ball in the winter and the picnic in the summer, just THIS years winter will instead be a casual gathering and we can start the ball in winter next year?

That sounds good. WWCG xD. That reminds me of the Time Warp YouTube video I uploaded. I accidently named it WCG instead of WCB and then my mind went "Like WGC but different?" I blame my school's acromyn x___x. I've changed the video name now though (the other two videos I'm uploading are taking forever D< More than an hour for one).

If we have it in the Winter holidays that would be good.

Uh, as a random side note, Kia (who was Demyx at the ball) is leaving for Wanganui soon, and so she's having a picnic before she goes. Probably this Saturday at Frankits for anyone that wants to come. Cosplay or no cosplay, either's fine.

I think that would be too soon, quite a few people, myself included would want new cosplays to wear at the next ball if there is one, also I'm not fond of the idea of trying to make a couple for Armageddon then a ball shortly after.

That would be a lot of money and such all at the same time, and not everyone can afford all that so close together.

Quite a valid point

The reason I suggest a mid winter something is that we usually have nothing on during that time and it gets quite boring so maybe a non-cosplay cosplayers event then??

So you are going this year after all? Sweet.

I think a midwinter ball is a good idea so as to spread the events through the year instead of cramming them all into the start, but I also think that there's no real need for another ball this year. We already have arma and the picnic, but at least there's the idea for 2010.

We normally have something in the summer (Picnic last year, ball this year), and then around April is Armageddon, and then we basicly have nothing until Summer starts again. So we need to fill up that gap D:

I have to agree that another Ball would be too much.

If we wanted to do something perhaps just an informal cosplay gathering, something that doesn't need to much in the way of orgainisation other than 'turn up HERE at X time in cosplay', or something along those lines.

The one we did in Wellington last year on the 4th of May was quite a success I thought. The Botanical Gardens for photos and then junk food for lunch. Or there's alwasy the option of a potluck lunch...

Yeah, the 4th of May one went really well. Maybe having another something like that. Wondering through town in cosplay is fun :3
