[WCB09] BALL DETAILS IN HERE!

Hi guys,

Coz the details for the Ball are all hidden in the Epic threads and things, here are the basics:

Time: 7:30ish to 11pmish (but if you come earlier/stay later and help clean/set up we'll give you a hug!)
Date: 10 January, 2009
Place: St Andrews Hall on the Terrace, Wellington
Price: $25
Current ticket sales: 3.

EDIT: Yeah, the rest of the details. My brain is not functioning so great atm

Dresscode: We're aiming for formal cosplay here folks.
Desperate? Wear a black dress and some FFVII bling and say Tifa's at a Ball.

on top of this the dress code is formal cosplay (we arnt too strict on this it just would be nice)

there will be nibbles there but not a full meal

probably a good idea to learn to dance as this will be a ball

But if you mean more formal stuff like Waltz for the Moon, then people can learn that if they want and stuff. No use trying to teach people who don't even know FFVIII and stuff >w>

how about carmmaeldancen, tango, cha cha, vancian waltz

all are easy to learn and fun to do

The 'obligatory' ones would probably be Caramelldansen, Hare Hare Yukai and Lucky Star Motteke Sailor Fuku. I think I can remember how to Circle Waltz very faintly, and then that and Waltz for the Moon are about the extent of my formal dancing knowledge.

If you can teach us the others though, that would be welcome :)

Since I'm getting an iPod soon, I might throw a big playlist on there and then put it on shuffle and plug it into the speaker. Viable? xD

'Based on Ticket Sales'? Does that mean like, one ticket = ten songs? xD

Just remember people, you don't have to worry about catering,
U_ne_korn will raid my Vegetable store then seige moore wilsons, thus food will be fine.

Once ticket are brought we shall cater appropriately, so BUY PEOPLE ~
(ignore fact i have not gotten mine, BUT i am getting when she comes up for Christmas which should be tomorrow~)

Other things that people who are coming might stress about, is that yes we do a Venue~

So dont stress, buy a ticket and make your costume or throw something pretty together and pretend you are in cosplay~ And Merry Christmas!

Maybe add some silver "cufflinks" or other masculine-type jewellery. Brilliant thinking there :-D Do you have a ticket yet?!?

EDIT:

One ticket lets you pick three songs Smile

That way we get lots of variable songs and if the shuffle works right, we can declare that it was an unbiased pick of what EVERYONE wanted - the hardest thing at parties I find is getting everyone to agree on the music...

Soo.... hate to ask the obvious, but have you actually bought a ticket yet?

We're still in rather a situation of lots of people saying they're coming but barely any of them have actually bought a ticket. It makes it EXTREMELY difficult to work out costings and how much food/nibbles/drinks to cater for..

Same applies to everyone else whos indicated they're going but has yet to buy a ticket. It is only 2 weeks away now, so you kinda need to get your stuff sorted, so we know if you're coming or not. <end semi-rant>

u_ne_korn: I was thinking if I brought the iBook (with Dad's permission.... he'd probably watch it the whole time) and plugged in my (new!) iPod then shuffled a Playlist that that'd compiled it might be a bit easier? XD; Because I know I've got a buttload of songs (at least 10.5 days worth, if my iTunes data is right....) from heaps and heaps of different anime/games/Japanese pop/rock/contemporary and it might save a little time. Plus..... I can't download torrents. And I do mean that in both a 'we don't have the program(s)' and 'eet ees not allowed' way. -ded-
But I wonder.... if I could connect to the interbutz there (is that possible??), if there is a song I don't have I could go and download it off my sites? I'm super-fast at finding and downloading songs, esp. from anime and games. :3

JP: No I haven't! Sorryyyy! D; I don't have a bank account and I wasn't out on the day that Mel said she would be out with tickets. And I have to buy for someone else as well. And I haven't even got my cosplay started yet @A@ ORZ
